Few days ago I had mentioned brightness bug on cm10.1. I thought a clean installation will solve problem but that problem still exist. also one more problem I am facing which is really wiered.
When I face too low brightness bug then I try to reboot the phone so that brightness should work normally. But last time when I faced this problem then phone didnt boot. So I removed battery and tried to restart phone. And guess what phone was not booting at all. I tried seveal times but no luck. So I thought my phone is bricked. So I tried to to go to recovery to make sure phone is in good condition. And thank god it entered in recovery mode. After that I again tried to restart the phone. Now it booted normally :)
This problem happened 2-3 times especially when brightness drop below lower value. I am not sure whether anyone is facing this problem. Sorry I am not able to produce any log as it always happened whenever I was busy with my work. But because of this problem I have to go back to alpha 6.

I've also posted abt the brightness being more dim than normal. Just saying..

can anyone help me to solve this?
i hv adjust brightness to minimum, but i still get a result like this? i am using alpha 4, i cant update because i cant use mass storage after upgradem
Like what?

@Drizzt_Kueh
1° log: No errors reported
2° log: It's like as if the internal MMCs were removed while in use
3° log: System crash, it could be hard to find the cause

Why is it that when i got empty batt then i charge then open it immediately, the battery is starting in 30%? Not in 1%?
and @manojks256
For the same reason that causes a battery loss after a reboot. The fuelgauge chip does a wrong assumption and it reports the wrong percentage. As for the loss after a reboot, the percentage gets corrected after a while.
We don't need battery calibrations, cycles and all that stuff.
Getting rid of batterystats.bin is just a waste of time, it's simply deletes the battery history graph and the stats you can see from the settings.
@Divone
There are currently 2 issues with the backlight (3 with @vishal24387's): the usual backlight issue which isn't solved yet and a new issue which is causing LCD blinks while the screen is off (introduced with Alpha7). The command I posted is for the new one, your problem is the one with currently no effective solutions.

When I tried this ROM I had same backlight issue and phone was getting hot.
Then I tried Carbon ROM based on same alpha 7 and I am almost not facing this issue. Mostly I face it
a) during call. Phone gets too hot.
b) when Plume and battery stats was installed. I removed them and now no backlight issue.

Difference ?

What do you mean by fall in darkness?

Fall in darkness means lowest brightness becomes literally very dark that I cant see my screen if I stand outside in sunlight. And if I try to set max brightness then brighness can be raised upto only normal value (not max value). Its like brightness gets locked upto a perticular lower value. It happened 2-3 times that literally I was not able to pickup call of my friends because screen brightness was very low due to which I was not able to see anything on screen.

I have problem 2 same (Screen lightup itself after about 15 sec).

The same is happening to me. The screen is too dark to use it. And nothing seems to fix it. With max. brightness.

And that´s a pity, because this rom rocks. :)

You must try the MOD i recommended. I have changed some settings which may solve your issue. It won't hurt trying. Rest is up to you :)

I am sure that u are aware about bugs that I have mentioned :) I know that u and dhiru are working hard on fixing backlight bug. And thats why u have included backlight patch in alpha 7. But it has created new bugs in those phones also which never faced any backlight bug. So can u create a (test) kernel for backlight affected people only?? And create another rom without backlight patch for those people who never faced backlight bug?? This will benefit all people as backlight problem can be tackled with test kernels and other unaffected people can use non patched backlight kernel.

Alpha 7 is amazing rom but due to backlight patch included many people are not able to enjoy this (like me) :( Its just a small request. You and dhiru know what is best for our phone :)

In my opinion this is alpha rom, also very difficult to develop this stage so take no sense to fork. I think developers will enjoy this rom when they got it ..so why have we to enjoy now? :)

Hello everyone. :) I'm sorry, but I agree with the words @vishal24387. I understand that the decision will be for the developer - Dhiru, but let me share my thoughts. The question of the problem of backlight.
With the release of kernel 3.0.8 and CM10.1, users were divided into 2 groups:
1. no problems with backlight (most people);
2. with this problem.
Developers have become hard to find the cause mistakes found a partial solution, and released the Alpha 7.
After the release of Alpha 7, users were divided into 3 groups:
1. no problems with backlight (including the developer himself);
2. who have not had a problem getting a flashing display;
3. who previously had a problem, got a partial solution.
The question arises. It may indeed be correct, do a basic ROM for most users who do not have a problem with backlight, continue to search for errors, and for users who have the problem of illumination, make fixes, patches, individual kernels? Then the bulk of users will have only those errors which are officially declared by the developer in the OP.
What do we have now. Almost all of them have a problem with the lights, except for the user group number 1. Between the two trouble, you need to choose the least.
Sorry, this is just my thoughts! Thank you! :)
Sorry for my bad English!

Hi everyone, I just wanna report that we are still vulnerable to some google code bug (so you must be carefull), and I did a screenshot to you can see/know that.

This is reported in the last "Bluebox Security Scanner" after update/test the app.

One more time thanks for the good job.

Cheers.

It must be a bug related to sina weibo, therefore "sina.blog", so those who don't use that app (me included) don't have to worry.

    CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.2 (JB), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

    Code:
    #include <std_disclaimer.h>
    /*
     * Your warranty is now void.
     *
     * I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
     * thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
     * do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
     * before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
     * you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
     */

    CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

    All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

    Installation Instructions

    IMPORTANT! READ BEFORE FLASHING!
    1. If you flash this ROM from Stock ROM, it will wipe data due to different partitioning. The device would reboot while flashing and resume again.
    2. Once on this ROM, the most effective way of going back to any other ROM would be to repartition from Odin.
    3. While converting the filesystem, your efs that has your IMEI is backed up to /emmc/backup/efs. Keep a backup on your PC just in case.
    4. Incase if you don't get a network signal, check if your IMEI and Baseband are proper. If not, go back to stock and try again.
    5. Do NOT use Odin to flash Modems. Due to different partitions, Odin will screw up your existing MTD setup.

    Stock ROM
    1. Flash CWM Compatible Kernel (CF ROOT)
    2. Reboot to Recovery.
    3. Wipe Data / Factory Reset.
    4. Select the ROM zip from your SD Card and flash.
    5. The device will reboot and finish flashing.
    6. Reboot to Recovery Again.
    7. Flash Google Apps.
    8. Reboot

    Any other AOSP ROM (CM7/MIUI/CM9)
    1. Reboot to Recovery.
    3. Wipe Data / Factory Reset.
    4. Select the ROM zip from your SD Card and flash.
    5. The device will reboot and finish flashing.
    6. Reboot to Recovery Again.
    7. Flash Google Apps.
    8. Reboot

    Upgrading from previous versions of CM10

    I have finally purchased LG Optimus Black P970. Big Thanks to everyone who has donated.

    I have received the phone yesterday and I have built CM10.1 and installed it. I started playing around with the HWComposer and testing out few stuff. After hours of debugging with the P970, I finally came to know what's the problem that was preventing HWComposer to run on Galaxy SL. I immediately made the fixes and viola! It works.

    The UI is butter smooth now with almost no visible lag. The performance is same as that of P970. However, I have been facing issues with getting the HD video to work. There are some display subsystem errors and the screen turns off when a video is played. Once this issue is fixed, I will roll out the next release with HWComposer.

    Alpha 7 is out. This would be the most stable and complete release so far.

    New build of Alpha 6 is out. You could download it from the Download section.

    You will never have seen your phone perform so well as that of new Alpha 6 :cyclops:
