after using alpha 7 for about a month my touchscreen stopped responding.i flashed stock rom but it still stops responding from time to time.
EDIT:even the touch sensitive buttons are not working
touch sensitive buttons are not working for sure.touchscreen only works while unlocking and maybe 1-2 seconds after unlocking.

nah.....if it completely stopped responding then i would have believed that its dead.but it responds for about 3-4 seconds after unlocking.

As per my knowledge you are one of those people who suffer from backlight ptoblem. So my guess is that may be alpha 7 caused some problem with touch sensitive buttons (even dhiru has mentioned it in bug list). In my case same thing was happened with me related to brightness bug. Even if I flash xxkpe brightness bug was appearing on it also. That was really wiered...!!
So try in this way...flash xxkpe with .pit file. Then flash ddlf2. Then cm10.1 alpha 6 (its one of the good stable rom without touchscreen bug). Then remove battery for 5 min. And finally start phone. And check same bug appears or not. If everything goes well then flash alpha 8 (its the best stable rom) :)

nothing wrong with rom .. its the device i had this problem 2 years ago and replaced the touchscreen at the last week of warranty ( lucky :victory: )
its caused by sweet or small drops of water when you put ur phone on ur pocket .. i advice you to put ur phone in rice for 3 days if you dont have warranty sometimes it works you can use youtube to see that .. many people tried this method and it works good

i used to have the brightness bug on cm 7.and early builds of cm10.1 but not after alpha 4 i guess.i flashed ddlf2 directly over alpha 7.but it doesn't work.
but why do i need to flash xxkpe since we can flsh lf2 with the pit file.anyways i'll try if you say so.
EDIT: i was on alpha 6 and not alpha 7.

---------- Post added at 01:16 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:05 AM ----------

so this is what happened.
a month on alpha 6 and then touchscreen stopped responding.
flashed ddlf2 over it problem was still there.in addition the light sensitive buttons stopped working.
then i thought of rooting the phone to flash alpha 8 and see if the problem is still there.
rooted the phone using the ddlf2 cf root kernel.
phone's touchscreen and light sensitive buttons started working for 10 minutes went dead again :|
lets see what happens after flashing alpha 8

EDIT:no luck with alpha 8 too.

If u are sure its a hardware problem then try method told by sh7adesh. If it solve ur problem then its good. If not, then go to a good repair shop and told them to just open and fit touchscreen properly. I heared somewhere that just fitting touchscreen properly will sometime fix the problem :)

actually my touchscreen now works.but the thing is its depends upon the time i switched off the phone or the phone is locked.if i lock the phone for an hour then it will respond for about 5-10 minutes.i switched off the phone for the night so the touchscreen is working,as of now.but touch sensitive buttons are completely dead.this guy,jazzy4u,just pm'ed me that he had the same problem so he flashed kpe and it was solved.i;ll try and do that but im still confused why would it work with kpe and not with lf2.
also i had this weird problem on alpha 6.phone worked fluently for the first day and then started getting berserk and lagged a lot.

Touch screen not responding is a very common problem in our phones... Almost all the times it is a hardware problem.
I have had my screen replaced two times now. Once was in warranty... The other time it wasn't... :(

I'd just add that this time before flashing you may format your SDCard and Internal memory too. Obviously after taking a full backup on your PC ;)
Good luck !

Bug report:
I was listening to songs on Apollo player after sometime time it stopped responding, then i tried to press next song & previous song buttons but no response then it suddenly rebooted itself (hot reboot). Tried to play songs after the reboot but same thing happened again. Then again tried to use Google's Play music player, this also stopped responding after 1-2 songs (maybe coz this player is heavy).
There's some issue while playing music. Pls look into it devs.
Thanks.

the phone seems to be heating up while listening to music (earphones) or whenever i make a call.....

i observed this sometime back :

betterbatterystats showed the cpu to be at 1 ghz for more than an hour......seeing i didnt do any gaming that day...and also considering the heat from the phone in my pocket ( when listening to music) and also when making a call, it could explain the why the battery fell soo much after that call....

for now reducing the max cpu speed to 600 mhz seems to have stopped the heating up......

BTW this was with ondemand governor....

PS : incase i havent mentioned this before, on making a call, along with the phone heating, even the backlight seems to stay on constantly for the duration of the call......

I'm trying with conservative governor and the cpu seems to be alright, with ondemand the cpu keep staying on 1ghz for a while, even though im not doing anything.

    Installation Instructions

    IMPORTANT! READ BEFORE FLASHING!
    1. If you flash this ROM from Stock ROM, it will wipe data due to different partitioning. The device would reboot while flashing and resume again.
    2. Once on this ROM, the most effective way of going back to any other ROM would be to repartition from Odin.
    3. While converting the filesystem, your efs that has your IMEI is backed up to /emmc/backup/efs. Keep a backup on your PC just in case.
    4. Incase if you don't get a network signal, check if your IMEI and Baseband are proper. If not, go back to stock and try again.
    5. Do NOT use Odin to flash Modems. Due to different partitions, Odin will screw up your existing MTD setup.

    Stock ROM
    1. Flash CWM Compatible Kernel (CF ROOT)
    2. Reboot to Recovery.
    3. Wipe Data / Factory Reset.
    4. Select the ROM zip from your SD Card and flash.
    5. The device will reboot and finish flashing.
    6. Reboot to Recovery Again.
    7. Flash Google Apps.
    8. Reboot

    Any other AOSP ROM (CM7/MIUI/CM9)
    1. Reboot to Recovery.
    3. Wipe Data / Factory Reset.
    4. Select the ROM zip from your SD Card and flash.
    5. The device will reboot and finish flashing.
    6. Reboot to Recovery Again.
    7. Flash Google Apps.
    8. Reboot

Upgrading from previous versions of CM10
    1. Reboot to Recovery.
    2. Select the ROM zip from your SD Card and flash.

I have finally purchased LG Optimus Black P970. Big Thanks to everyone who has donated.

I have received the phone yesterday and I have built CM10.1 and installed it. I started playing around with the HWComposer and testing out few stuff. After hours of debugging with the P970, I finally came to know what's the problem that was preventing HWComposer to run on Galaxy SL. I immediately made the fixes and viola! It works.

The UI is butter smooth now with almost no visible lag. The performance is same as that of P970. However, I have been facing issues with getting the HD video to work. There are some display subsystem errors and the screen turns off when a video is played. Once this issue is fixed, I will roll out the next release with HWComposer.

Alpha 7 is out. This would be the most stable and complete release so far.
    65
New build of Alpha 6 is out. You could download it from the Download section.

You will never have seen your phone perform so well as that of new Alpha 6 :cyclops:
