Just bought this phone, been testing it for a week now.
Good screen, IPS, 3G works great, fast GPS, an incredible machine for the price.
Have it rooted and with the latest firmware, no bugs so far. Just testing the battery duration.

After the update fix the camera with SP MDT and GPS with M44 toolbox.

Root em português:
- Faz download dos ficheiros
- Instalar os MTK6589 Driver que lá estão
- Liga o usb debug autoriza instalar apps desconhecias liga o cabo usb para o PC reconhecer o smartphone
- Desliga do PC a seguir de reconhecer o aparelho
- Corre o ficheiro “run.bat” botão rato do lado direito run as administrator e carrega enter quando abrir a janela
- Liga o cabo USB com o smartphone ligado
- Ele vai rootear e instalar o SuperSU
- Pede para fazer reboot ao smartphone e dá OK

STAR N9500 CWM recovery

Hi i have made basic cwm recovery for this device as i have one.
i have installed and tested with firmware N9500.20130419_e2006_v89_jbaol1 om my N9500 and works perfect and have done nandroid backup etc.
I flashed it by swapping cwm with stock recovery in firmware loaded spflashtool and unticked all except recovery,

Adding star n9500 cwm recovery v6.0.2.8 by my amigo bruno martins.Again i have tested on my n9500 and working perfect with above firmware.(better cwm than mine)

HI May I know which version of windows are you using?
My SP Flash tool doesn't help
I used whatever methods they used to install driver to detect my phone while its off
But unfortunately it just cannot detect
I am using Windows 8 x64
I take out the battery methods, install without driver enforecement
Still no avail

Any advice?

Hi you can forget it with windows 8.when i was running win 8 i had so many problems like this i went back to win 7

That's sad as I don't have another computer to do the flash
Well I think I just leave it as it is

you can try to install drivers manually.go here and download and install this..it will install android adb driver etc.
when asked select SAMSUNG driver.

I dont think so but check first the kernel/baseband of your device see if it a match for firmware here.But be very careful
I dont think screens are the same but all other specs seem to be about the same.

Eu tenho procurado em todos os lugares para uma rom para o nosso dispositivo que tenha samsung ui.I pensei que eu encontrei um que era uma rom para HDC N9500​​, eu instalei no meu aparelho e funcionou perfeito .. problema foi foi standerd estoque, bem como, mas agora eu sei que o firmware para HDC funciona bem em nosso device.I vai continuar procurando e pode fazer um para mim se eu puder pegar as coisas que eu preciso.

I have been looking everywhere for a rom for our device that has samsung ui.I thought i found one it was a rom for HDC n9500,I installed on my device and worked perfect..problem was it was standard stock as well,but now i know that the firmware for HDC works fine on our device.I will keep looking and might make one myself if i can get hold of the stuff i need.

Hello again i have put firmware for HDC S4 i9500 on my star n9500 and is perfect so i can now say YES
but if you want a link for HDC firmware let me know but it is same as what is here.
