Alternative Fingerprint patch for note 7 roms [Works on most note 7 roms]

I tried with my S5 900F, ported Note7 MM port
Settings Has changed and after next reboot I had settings FCs each single time I tried. Moreover switching back original settings files wasn't helpful with further ability to set anything

Do you mean you couldn't restore the settings that came with the rom?

Actually, there was some work to do around the permissions of the folders and files prior to a reboot.

No you don't have to flash the ROM again. Make sure you followed the steps mentioned properly. And also to assign default permissions after replacing the files.

Got it working on my SM-N910f running Nemesis Rom V3. Unfortunately i can't remove the default lockscreen pattern i have set. Settings crashes when i try. Don't suppose anyone knows a fix ?

I did some searching around yesterday. I deleted the gatekeeper.pattern.key from the system/priv-app yesterday using root explorer and that removed the pattern lock. Is flashing this a better alternative because i made a backup of the file ?

The registered fingerprints work like charm with the lockscreen app. The only problem is the lockscreen isn't enabled directly after reboot and the phone is completely unlocked until it starts up. I tried many different apps but no luck. Don't suppose you know of a fix for this ?

Norma N7 V12, not working.

The files in step 2,3 don't exist... which means no need to delete right? Ok...
After flashing SecSettings2 from note4, there is no fingerprint option in the settings menu, and trying to go to lock screen settings just crashes settings.
(I didn't clear cache/dalvik? But that shouldn't really be that big a deal)

If anyone gets it working on Norma N7 V12 please let me know.

Don't open the Screen Lock Type menu, just go back,
Open Settings - > Lock Screen and Security - there you will see Fingerprint, just below Notification and Lock Screen, if didn't find,let me know I will share the screenshot with you.

Sorry, then we have to find some other method. you need to check with the Developer of this ROM. Because I am on another ROM and it works perfectly fine.

I am on Doola ROM V10 modified by Bakr, an Arabian devleoper, its perfect and having 10-15 hours battery backup. I am not heavy user, but still its good for me.

If anyone is still here looking for a solution there was a WORKAROUND posted for devices such as mine which DIDN'T HAVE the fingerprint option (Norma V12, 13 etc)

Basically... you have to manually add the settings files in. But hey, it works.

Steps provided by you seems to be very similar as @ dr.ketan.
@ dr.ketan stated to use C locker instead of App lock.
But C locker's security was bypassed if u swipe from down to up word direction in @ dr.ketan Rom.
After swiping from down to upward phone gets unlocked without fingerprint.
So can any one confirm whether if we use App lock and then swipe upward from down then phone does not get unlocked ( on @ dr.ketan Roms) using either steps mentioned by @Shane_Picardo or @ dr.ketan Steps but using App lock ?

Unfortunately app lock can be bypassed by forcing the phone into multi window mode...

The only one that works reliably is hi locker, and even that doesn't boot immediately at new boot up, but it's still the best one.
