Alternative Straps for Asus ZenWatch

I might have to get a couple quick interchangeable ones... The one that comes stock has started to stain my arm, I'm guessing its due to my running with the watch and the sweat messing with the band. Id like to preserve the band as much as possible and use a plastic or nylon band for exercise... Thanks for all the suggestions...

Hi guys,

Just bought my watch yesterday and didn't put it on until today and immediately have an issue with the band. I am a bigger guy and apparently have a bigger wrist as a result, although I never thought I had a big wrist. I was barely able to get the stock wristband to work by putting it on the last notch. The issue with that is it slides the clasp around the side of the band which means the clasp part is no longer centered on the back of the wrist so the edge of the clasp digs into the side of my wrist. It also leaves a lot of holes exposed which to me is tacky.

I did some quick measurements that maybe people can confirm.

It seems the stock band is 165mm in length, give or take. When I checked some of the suggested bands posted there was one I liked that the eBay seller describes as being 178mm long and then lists the various lengths you can achieve by removing the links:

adjust 6 links from 178mm - 168mm - 158mm - 148mm - 138mm - 128mm - 118mm

It seems that if the stock band is about 165 and is about right, that the above band with one link removed would be 168 and should fit and because of the style, wouldn't have the holes of the leather band.

Removing one link would offset the band by 10mm which should still leave it basically centered on the back of the wrist.

Anyone else with a bigger wrist and perhaps someone has tried this band or can suggest another that would accomodate a wrist like mine.

Thanks,

Thanks, I know I can do that, but I like deals and it isn't likely to get a deal at the watch shop :) Seems they are MSRP or more....just me..

Geckota Milanese Mesh

This strap arrived today. Thought I'd post photos as it helped me to decide after seeing photos on here.

Really pleased with it. If you're thinking of getting the same strap make sure you get the original Geckota from eBay or Amazon. I originally bought a cheap copy from China which looked almost identical but the difference in quality is noticeable. The original only costs £22 anyway.

Thanks for posting the pix....how is the adjustment done on that band and what is the maximum length. Thanks

BTW, found that one or a similar one on Amazon for $82...half the cost of the watch almost..

and then I found a $31 one and also, I found out how the band is adjusted....thanks

Bought the Geckota Milanese Mesh - satin from Amazon after seeing your photos joeg6217. Looks really good with ZenWatch, and quality is very good. Mesh size is medium and I think looks a bit finer in real life than in the photos. Very pleased with it.

Desire one of the Staib Milanese mesh bands, but can't justify paying over £100 for it.

I liked the Melanese mesh style bands you guys were showing off and after some digging I found a Speidel Twist-o-Flex version which I love as it has the look of the bands you found with the ease of slipping it on and off.

My wrist is big enough that I had to wear the leather band on the last hole which moved the whole clasp mechanism around to the side and it would bite into the edge of my wrist. I am also lazy when it comes to taking the watch off and on so this was the ideal solution for me.

I have gotten several compliments on the watch/band combo. You never know if it was the watch or the band that got their eye but either way, I have gotten compliments on it.

18-22mm Straight End Speidel Twist-o-flex Silver Tone Elegant Link Stainless Steel Watch Band 1256/02

I found it on Amazon for $24 plus $2.50 shipping.

I just noticed it is water resistant to 50' :)

I was able to get the Pebble band to fit after a few modifications. First I drilled out the holes that the spring bar goes through with a #49 bit. Diameter after drilling was .073". Then I found some 347 stainless steel tubing that had a .088" inside diameter and a .098" outside diameter. I used a Dremel to cut this to the length I needed for spacers to center the band. Then I got a few 22mm spring bars and put it all together.

I went through all the pages and think that metal bracelets do not look good on Zenwatch because it will leave a big gap between the bracelet link and the watch itself.

Bulova Caravelle Replacement Watch Band

Well, I finally purchased a ZenWatch a few days ago and set out in search of a better band. After visiting a few jewelry stores - most of whom didn't sell replacement watch bands - I found an awesome stainless steel band that fits like a glove. It's a replacement band for a Bulova Caravelle watch: mash here.

It's a 22mm band which is designed for a post watch. The posts on the Caravelle watch are a bit thicker than the ones on the ZenWatch so, at first, the "cover" piece was randomly tilting back away from the face. However, it was just a couple of tabs on the back of that piece that were supposed to keep it from rocking which were easy pressed down to fit the posts on the ZenWatch. The end result is a stylish, stainless steel watch band that looks like it was designed for the watch - for only $35!

If you're interested, pretty much any local jewelry store that sells Bulova watches can order replacement bands; just give them the watch model from the link above (43A118) and have them order it. Worst case scenario, if you have trouble finding a jeweler who can and will order the replacement band for you at a reasonable price, is you can order the watch off of Amazon - currently under $50 with free prime shipping.

I just purchased the ZenWatch and looking at a couple bands to maybe replace the original one and want some comments on how either will look with the watch.

NewLife Leather Band: http://www.amazon.com/Brown-Panerai-Style-Smooth-Leather/dp/B00OXIU64K/ref=sr_1_6?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1433341558&sr=1-6

Hadley Roma Metal Band: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005EJFZ84/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

I am use to wearing metal bands now, but either one I will be pleased with.
