I have a number of apps that display notifications in a dialog as well as playing a sound. This has somehow been inhibited on my Samsung Note 7 - OS 6.0.1. Some of the apps are MacroAndroid and Life Reminders.
Always on Display does not allow third party apps to display their own dialogs
