I'll be getting a HTC Amaze for free through a friend, but dunno what I want to do with it. The three options I've considered are keeping it, selling it for a MyTouch 4G Slide (which would leave me with $100+), or selling it for a LG G2x (which would leave me with $150+).

My only option is T-Mobile US. Not interested in the One S due to the non-expandable storage and non-removable battery. Not really interested in the Galaxy III, and that's just because the 4.8" screen is too big for me. And the Blaze or Galaxy II just doesn't appeal at all to me. Can't really think of any other options that come to mind.

Between the Amaze and 4G Slide, it's basically HDMI-out, slightly better specs, dedicated camcorder button, one-part cases/better accessories, and a bigger/higher-res screen -vs- keyboard/trackpad...and that's basically it, but it's kind of a big deal (both come in handy often - especially in the winter when I need to send a quick text before my fingers go numb). And the G2x would basically be a "cheaper" Amaze for me - and personally, I like the size/feel of it...the lack of decent ICS development isn't too good, though, and I have heard some hardware issues (such as overheating, causing it to reboot randomly).

Thoughts?

UPDATE: Situation has changed, now even sure about what phone choices I'm looking at now.

I find the G2x to be a pretty good phone, but yeah many people do have hardware issues with it. Luckily for me, I had a well-made one so my experience with it was good. It is pretty slim, and has a very nice 4 inch screen made of gorilla glass, so it's very rugged. For me, it fits into my pocket very nicely. If you overlook the hardware issues, the g2x is a very good buy. It's development is okay as well, not as bad as you think.

I personally don't really prefer HTC phones so no comment there. Not too familiar with the HTC Amaze, except that it has a dual core snapdragon.

The myTouch 4g slide does have a qwerty keyboard and that makes it a bit bulky. Otherwise if you prefer a physical keyboard it's a good buy as well.

keep the amaze bro

i have an amaze and its been the best phone i've ever bought by far, i've played with the sgs2, the htc mytouch, and unfortunately i've had to work on iphones as well... no phone has compared to what the amaze can do, nowhere close if u ask me. plus its incredibly easy to customize thanx to xda and ba developers. let me put it this way, if u like the os on these other phones just give it a week and that same os will be available for ur amaze only it'll be better. for instance i've already used the s3 os on my phone with the s-beam and flip book... just sayn
