[AMAZFIT][BIP] LANGUAGE FIRMWARE (English, Italian, and others)

Hi,
Can anyone help me to change my AMAZFIT BIT from Chinese to English?
I have tried different menthods using GB and 1.1.5.56 Latin Buidls, but watch screen is struck in "Connect to APP for update" even if it is connected to GB in background and I receive app updates but I cannot use the watch except from the screen "Connect to APP for Update"
And when I connect to MiFit then the watch is updated automatically to Chinese version and the watch will come back to life.

Anyone suceeded in making this work?

I faced the same behavior after flashing the fw file.

The wiki (https://codeberg.org/Freeyourgadget/Gadgetbridge/wiki/Amazfit-Bip-Firmware-Update) says:

The Gadgetbridge FW/App Installer activity should then be started and guide you through the installation process.
...
Flashing the *.fw triggers a reboot and will show a screen which will ask you to flash the .res if your version is outdated.

But what happened is that the screen (of the watch) stays at the "Connect to APP for update". I just ignored it and went on with the described flashing order (*.fw, *.ft, *.res, *.gps)
So opened each file in the file explorer (I use Amaze) on the phone and used "Open with ..." --> "Gadgetbridge FW/App Installer".
Finally the watch switched the screen back to the watchface which was configured. (it also took half a minute until "GPS successful updated" [not sure about the exact wording] was shown on the watch after the gps flash was shown as finished on the phone)

That process work with Bip lite? A1915? HW: 0.31.133.7?

I have a "normal" Amazfit BIP (A1608 HW. V0.11.19.5). Not sure about the lite version. At least Gadgetbridge do mention the lite version and explicit points to the A1608 in the wiki. I would say the BIP lite is not supported.

Thank you so much flotux and Aurangabad for this! Finally, after searching high and low for a solution to change my Amazfit bip Chinese version to international version I finally found it! It really didn't take that long and everything worked as described.

Just one update: After I did this I uninstalled Gadgetbridge and opened the Mi Fit app again. It immediately repaired my watch and updated it to the latest firmware (v.1.1.5.12) of the international version. Still all in English. So, if you were worried that repairing with Mi Fit will change it back to Chinese, you can safely go ahead and update the watch and it will stay English.

Thanks a lot to all of you! I followed this guide before, and although it didn't work, after downgrading the firmware to v.1.1.5.04 and retrying, it worked! I posted a clearer guide here to help other people find the right procedure to do this and clear the confusion. I just wish Amazfit weren't so boneheaded and allowed us to just pick the language we want so we don't have to go through this. I welcome any feedback! Hope this helps others.

Thanks to my colleague from Aurangabad I can now provide the English translation for the needed steps to change the language from Chines to English:

Friends, In this video I have told how simply and with the easy steps we can convert our Amazfit Bip CHINESE version in to INTERNATIONAL (ENGLISH) version.
Amazfit Bip is one of the best budget smart watch and is available in 2 variants, CHINESE & INTERNATIONAL.
Out of the box both comes with CHINESE but once you sync with MIFIT App automatically the INTERNATIONAL version will be converted to ENGLISH.
To convert the CHINESE version we use one modified version of firmware which changes the HARDWARE ID of our watch for the INTERNATIONAL version.

Before following the steps kindly update your watch with the latest firmware version i.e. v1.1.5.04, for successful conversion process.

STEPS : (Valid for v1.1.5.04 ONLY)
1.*****Sync your watch with MIFIT App
2.*****In the MIFIT App set DISCOVERABLE to ON and UN-PAIR the watch
3.*****RESTART the Bip watch and Android Mobile
4.*****Download and extract the FILES from below mentioned LINK and then install the GADGET BRIDGE.apk in your Android Mobile
5.*****Switch on the AEROPLANE MODE, BLUETOOTH & LOCATION SERVICES in your Android Mobile and connect BIP watch to GADGET BRIDGE App. After connecting it, click on the 3 dots and check your “HW ID”.

If your HW ID is : v0.11.1.4 then select File: "Mili_chaohu_CE_1.fw" for doing an update.
If your HW ID is : v0.11.131.5 then select File: "Mili_chaohu_CE_131.fw"for doing an update.

1.*****Load your appropriate firmware file to Android Mobile and by using File Manager open it in "FW/App Installer". Once it opens then click on the Install button.*
2.*****Start your watch again and click on “FACTORY RESET”
3.*****In the GADGET BRIDGE DELETE the old paired watch and again RE-PAIR it. As soon as PAIR Process completes then your watch will be converted to INTERNATIONAL (ENGLISH) version.

NOTE:
FIRMWARE UPDATE is one of the RISKY process, If not properly done then it may cause damage to your watch. Me and My Channel is not responsible for the damaged watch.

Unfortunately I also do not have this newer firmware.

But there is nothing to be said against starting with the old firmware. As soon as the smartwatch is switched to English, the firmware update OTA will work normally and the language will remain in English.

Where can I find the original firmware 1.1.6.48 but for a1612? I have a1608 and want the international firmware

Yes the solution is to get a new device since this one is 6 years old and obsolete

I take good care of it for these years.
