lol...I'm not trying to be a douche, I am honestly surprised this is the first you guys have heard of SPB. I've had it for a good month or so. And in all honesty, the Beta is pretty glitchy, if you actually analyze it, mess with the Weather widget a bit, for one. I couldn't stand the way it looked, so I modded some of the images, but even then I still ended up preferring plain old Launcher Pro Plus. The novelty wears off, everyone I know who tried this got sick of it and went back pretty quickly. I hope the final release will be better. I will say this though, it doesn't drain battery. It was the same as any other launcher.

I gathered it had been out for a minute, but this was the first I ran across it. The only problem I'm seeing is the activation after every boot. Outside of that, I haven't noticed any problems at all. Possibly a different build, or just different phones.
Regardless, if I didn't chase novelty, I would probably be able to keep a phone for more than 7 or 8 months. :p

Could be a different build, or just one of *Those* things, but the weather widget in it screws up for me, not a big deal as I do not use it anyways. And the activation drove me nuts, every time you launch it, say you wanted to switch launchers for a second, then go back so SPB, you have to reactivate. I mean, it IS pretty cool, I just got worn down on it, and honestly was too lazy to really mod the way it looks to my liking thoroughly. Now, if someone were to mod/theme it, I may consider going back.

I like the idea behind SPB launcher. I normally use ADW. I've been using SPB for a while now but I feel like it uses up a lot of my battery. I don't mind the weather widget but I don't need it because I use beautiful Widgets. We have to remember this is still in beta for android. The program started out for windows mobile platform. I am concerned about the future cost. They charge 29 dollars on the website for the windows versions.

That said... I'm not really familiar with android programing most of what I've done is in flash with action script but I would like to modify this to make it better. Maybe make it theme and skin able. I like veable to download skins or themes and changing them out.

You have to activate every time? Well, screw that.

It does require activation after a restart and it isn't something that is fast either it take a few minutes regardless of your signal strength.

Very nice. I've always like SPB apps. I've used them extensively back on the WinMo days. If it weren't for them, WinMo would have been unusable. SBP suites with themes were the only thing worth using on Windows mobile 5/6.

Glad to see them entereing the android arena. They could make some incredible widgets for us.

Regarding the activation, I only ever see it on boot, and it takes less than 10 seconds. Might just be me, but haven't had a problem with it so far. It is one extra step, but hasn't started annoying me yet. lol

I started having major in-coming and out-going call issues so I had to uninstalled the app for now. This is my company provided work phone and can't afford those type of issues. I'm bummed...

What specifically was happening so I know what to watch for?

Also, there appear to be several beta builds out there, I'm currently on Version 5.0, Build 4365.

Calling in or out, I couldn't hear the caller and they couldn't hear me. I was told that when trying to call me the phone would just keep ringing and not go to voicemail. When I did pickup I couldn't hear that person. I have had different application in the past that made my phone act simulator. Not good. Hope this helps. BTW.... I am not or ever have been rooted.

I will be tomorrow if I can't pull off getting a Thunderbolt. My reception issues with this phone is forcing me to get something with a better antenna. Besides that I love this phone.

I can't say this doesn't look, aesthetically, pretty awesome, but from a usability perspective the rotating screens are extremely impractical.

A simple grid (a la the Sense-style homescreen overview that ADW and LP use) would be much more efficient as you could go to any screen instantly without having to pass all the others, but of course that wouldn't look as exciting in a teaser video.
