AFAIK the amazon app store has never been on google store, you need to download it through their website. They send you an e-mail with the download link.

He's referring to the shopping app which shows up in my phone just fine not the app store.

The Amazon App Store has never been (and likely will never be) on the Play store because Amazon is using that app to go directly head-to-head with Google. That's why Amazon distributes it personally, by e-mail or from the site.

Well it can be some confusion about the app store. It's up to Asus if it's pre-installed on your device. The Amazon app store was not pre-installed on my tf300, but it was pre-installed on my iconia a200. Weird huh?

Not werid. It's Android. Open platform. Completely up to each manufacturer what apps come installed on the device. My Nook Color didn't have Google or Amazon apps installed. Customization is the beauty of Android.
