Ain't gonna lie but running out of ideas. Could try a different micro sd card or try taking out the micro card and front load a usb stick, i would personally try unplugging everything apart from the power iso as well incase any of the reverse cameras are interfering (long shot)so what do you think, cant understand why it wont work????
worth a try.you saying it will update from a USB as well?
Ok lucky for you i don't give up easy lolI give up. defeated.... usb wont work. too out sd card that came with radio. Copied firmware files to just about anywhere that said root.
How could this be.....
I have just had one more idea press in the reset button (with a pin) power on system release reset and it should start updating.thanks mate. this one really has me beat up. I have never struggled like this to do a simple bloody system update !!!!!!!!!!!!
No system off then press reset then press power with reset still pressed then release reset (i think its been a while)so system off. press reset. turn system on and release as soon as I turn it on?
Thanks for the file. I tried it and it took about 10min until "end update" showed but no restart. I waited another 5min or so after end update and cycled power.Try this resuscitation firmware ("full_ format_for_AN21U"). Unzip the files to blank external SD Card, then insert into the unit. Press and hold POWER button, then push RESET button, then release POWER button. Wait until formatting is complete (about 10 minutes, maybe less or more), then the system will reboot.
This firmware is not update, but deep cleansing and reformatting the unit, and reset to factory settings.
Have never gotten the random strings...ever. What could I possibly be doing wrong. I have tried every which way to Sunday to get this bloody thing updated. this cant be rightYou have the same last 4 on the MCU as I do and I've been testing all of the available roms/firmware, even the "4.2" ones with success. Just make sure the firmware you download matches the 2101 MCU and you SHOULD be safe but that's your call. I'm still not going to say go for it with 100% but now you have a good place to start looking for upgrades.

When you flash an update properly you'll see green words. UPGRADE START then two or three random strings and then UPGRADE END. Don't worry about how long it takes to reboot unless you've been waiting for 5 or more minutes. You'll know it "took" when you see Android Updating xx of xx before being taken to the home screen.

Actually, you should be fine to use the firmware listed on the first page.if you look at the Previous Versions you'll notice System version 2.7.4 which matches.

Don't worry about that as forv the NTFS YES that could be a major issue as with any androidthen I got you covered with an amz gift card
One other thing, I noticed the sd card I have was formatted in NTFS. Not sure if that matters but got it to format to Fat32. going to try that now
I had this problem try system 2.60 but will have to be with the reset button and what ever key your device is mine is reset and power button. Thanks for the file. Same problem hear. As much as 10sec pause. For those using Torque Pro, is anyone here having wired and random pausing/freezing of gauges with this car stereo? The app refreshes and then the gauges freeze up. I'm thinking it might be a MCU issue, because I am having this issue for both the clone Chinese USB adapters and for the OBDLink SX USB adapter.
For those who are not experiencing gauges freezing up on you, can you please tell me which MCU version you're using with Torque Pro? Thanks in advance, because I'm desperately trying to find a solution for this.
