I bought an external charger.
I am planning to do a test
I will drain both batteries (STOCK and ANDIDA) to 0% to the point the phone wont turn on anymore.

Then i will fully charge them with the external charger and see how much time it takes for each one.
That should point out the capacity of this battery compared to the stock

I will post the results when done
Maybe you dont know, but you cant compare them this way becouse a battery which has been used for some month comparing to another new one is working longer.

I got my desire hd 2 months ago
I used stock battery for 35 days or so
Last 20-25 days i ve been using andida, so they re both equally used
I am in the proccess of draining out my stock battery now...andida is already at 0% as phone is not powering up.

Will post my results soon

I also bought one of these batteries, I am charging it for the first time, following the mugen guidelines.

I think (from my first drain) that the battery is alright... I highly doubt that it even matches the stock battery (it went down from 75% [from battery indicator] to 10 percent in about 11 hours?

I went back to stock for now. But I will post results later when I use it today...

I don't know the way to say. Some body here always blame me for this battery. Do I can say something?

I wake up 6am. Then unplug my charger with 100% batt. Now, 11:30pm. I have 70% of batt level. This plus with my son play Dungeun Defender (3D game) about 30 min. This is my today battery consume.

I don't want to say it good or bad. I try to find why we have a difference of test result?

May the version of android has this affect? My phone software info below:-

software number is 1.75.111.2 CL301245
Kernel version 2.6.32.21-g1e30168
Baseband version 12.28e.60.140fu_26.04.02.17_M2

As I knew, version of android really affect this issue.

(Sorry that I try to capture my screen with ShotMe but not success. Cause by my phone can't root.)

Ok guys i just finished my test
so

I started with charging my dead empty andida with this external charger.
It took 4 hours and 22 minutes (262 minutes overall) to 100%

Then the stock battery, it took 4 hours and 46 minutes (286 minutes overall) to 100%

So
Granted that the stock battery is 1230mah and gets fully charged in 286 minutes

The andida that gets charged in 262 minutes , is 1230*(262/286) = 1126 mah capacity

Which is a result that matches the real life experience, most of us telling that andida performs as stock but no where near as a 1800mah battery.

I will repeat more times, but things imo are clear.

I repeat even this way this battery is cheap for a replacement
The thing that makes me angry is their policy to name this battery as a 1800mah...no where near that number, its not even 1200mah...

Thanks for your confirmation. But again i wouldnt recommend using cheap China replacement battery for your daily usage. Emergency is fine. Those cheap batteries tend to bloat after sometime.

A nice test - of course, the state of your stock battery is "unique", and probably the Andida has not reached its maximum yet, it needs a few charging cycles.

But that doesn't change the empirical conclusion, that at best it's a standard power battery.

Anyway, how could a cheap battery be more powerful than a stock battery??? A Mugen battery may contain technology to squeeze some more mah into the same volume, but a cheap battery... that's impossible.

Hello,
i stated earlier that the andida battery was used too, i didnt charge it now for the 1st time.
Since i bought my desire HD, i used stock battery for 30-35 days and andida for the last 20-25 days, so they both had enough charging cycles.

it shows 1230 whatever battery you will put in
Its a number that this app takes from the rom, not an actual measurement.
I am running my test again with both batteries , will post results when done, tomorrow at some point

I bought this battery. For first days I was dissapointed. System shows that this is 1230mAh battery and my experience was the same. BUT: after few days I realized that finally my DesireHD can last all day of my using (which means: HUGE use) and I still have about 30% of battery on end of day (23:00). In fact I had many days with standard battery when my DesireHD stopped working because of battery. I got Andida three weeks and didn't even seen 10% of battery!

I got strange thing: when battery is fully charged (all night charge) statistics says it has 1230mAh MAX and that it is charged now to 1255mAh! And with every day it shows about 1mA more. Strange? This probably because there is no way to provide bigger battery with correct statistics and Andida is using some dirty hacks/tricks to provide bigger battery.

I can confirm that Andida battery is DEFINITELY bigger that stock one. I can't say how much. If yours is not this is probably because you don't have genuine Andida battery (I saw some cheaper "Andidas" that was fake for first look). You must buy it from trusted reseller.

I did the whole procedure again
Same results
Stock battery fully charged from 0 to 100% in 291 minutes
Andida battery fully charged from 0 to 100% in 264 minutes.

Conclusion
THERE IS NO FREAKIN WAY ANDIDA IS A 1800mah BATTERY
It charges in less time than stock battery, and that proves a lot.
Lower capacity charges in less time.

Also there was no usage of the battery, since i used an external wall charger.

I rest my case

If you feel i helped you make up your mind to purchase or not this battery, hit thanks button plz:)

I am not regretting buying this battery, its cheap and close to stock performance, i have serious objections though about the fact it is advertised as a 1800mah

Why time taken to charge means anything? This time depends totally on chip build into battery so different battery can have different charging strategies.

I only know that I used my phone today very often (a lot of calls, some emails, about 45 minutes of playing games, many opened sites), it's now 1:03 and I still have 46% of battery!

sorry but i am not buying it....
why that chip you re talking about has a different strategy for a start...and why does it have to be different only when chargeing and not when the battery is discharging ?

You have to understand we re talking about capacity here...
Its pretty much clear, what fuels up earlier , has lower capacity.

All your statements about playing games for half day etc are subjective , i post objective results here

I will do objective tests someday when I will have some free time. I will test how long each battery can play video.

This thread needs to be locked and a mod needs to sticky a topic clarifying what battery sizes are technically possible with the DHD's limited accommodation and that eBay batteries advertised greater than 1200 mah are fake.

pop your wifi on and put a live tv channel on your phone, tell it not to sleep and leave it to run, make sure that you have the exact same circumstances for each battery test, even take your sim out so you cant get any phone calls, turn sync off so theres no other things in the background hindering one over the other, wipe battery stats after current widget reads 0mah (charging) let us know how long it took for the phone to die, if the happy meal battery takes longer to die then you'll know, but an 1800mah battery will take a lot longer to die than a 1200, should be by quite a bit i think.

Not all of them are fake. Apparently Mugen batteries are a lot better, but you aint getting one for the price of a happy meal :)

After reading all these posts about Andida I decided not to buy this battery as it is better to stay with stock and will wait if some official original HTC accessory will have bigger capacity than 1230 mAh.
Thank you guys for test you made. :)
