You need to reflash the laf_a and laf_b to the device to get download mode back

Is this Lineage build being actively maintained?

Are there any Android 10 ROMs that are being actively maintained for the v40?

Long time no see yall here :)

got 2 news for you:
first of all, new LOS17.1 update, which includes:
September security patch
Updated LOS 17.1 sources
Metadata encryption -> you need to format data and use a special TWRP, which ill make an update for in the TWRP thread, and instructions for usage will follow here
Updated blobs from V405EBW 30b -> you NEED to be on 10 firmware, with pie firmware you wont be able to boot
some DAC fixes
screen-off touch Gestures (Settings -> System -> Gestures)
SELinux is enforcing
maybe more stuff i dont remember

known issues: sometimes bt audio doesnt work properly, investigating

Second news: LOS18.0 is booting, and it works pretty great so far (its based on the latest 17.1 build, so its requirements also count for this build)
Based on Android 11
EARLY build (the things i tested worked, but 99% of Lineage stuff isnt implemented yet, HALs are takes from 17.1 prebuilt, and so on...)
but Wifi, RIL, Audio, DAC, fingerprint, encryption, BT, ... seem to work so far

Will update OP soon with instructions for metadata encryption and links to download :)

Edit: TWRP thread updated

also some more info on 11/LOS18.0:
- Audio HAL upreved to 6.0 + DAC HAL changes to work with that
- SELinux permissive (bringup and so..)
- using more prebuilt LOS17.1 HALs, CAF not dropped for SDM845 yet
- Some build fixes here and there to make it compile/boot/work
- using AOSP bluetooth stack, not Qti

should be up in a few minutes :)

Updated blobs from V405EBW 30b -> you NEED to be on 10 firmware, with pie firmware you wont be able to boot

Some guidance on how to get there.

I'm currently running a Sprint V405UA cross-flashed to LG v405QA. This is a 20e Pie build.

How do I get from 20e Pie to 10 firmware if there is no 10 firmware for the LG v405QA?

Do I crossflash to one of the only 10 versions I can find first, then over to Lineage 17.1?

Is that the procedure?

Hi,

Would it work on a hard unlocked T-mobile V40? (the device has the bootloader unlocked and has install magisk to root.)

As you seem to be the first with an bl unlocked V40 (how did you do that in the first place?), try it, nobody before could.

But if its the same as on the V30, it needs a few different firmware files to work, which shouldnt be too much hasle.

A link to a guide would be awesome

Ok quick question, how to flash it? Any links to a detailed guide(am a noob) and what happens to the camera? Does it work the same way as it did with the stock?

I purchase the phone from a professional seller who have the sources to work and modify V40.

The one he sold me was a bad IMEI T-mobile V40 almost new. He open the back, change another 845 CPU to unlock Bootloader, and remove the network lock of sim card, he refuse to tell me the mechanism or he maybe did not know it, just know how to do it. Then he increase the ram and rom to 8+128 by changing them, modify the phone to be Dual-sim version, and change the battery with the V50's 4000mah.

So technically, my V40 is not a typical T-mobile one.

I got the phone with an unlocked BL and magisk installed.
I've tried the twrp and the Lineage 17.1 you provided.
The twrp goes well, and the flashing of the rom is smoothly,
But it stuck at the lineage os icon and can not boot.

I try to use 9008 mode to just replace the boot_a and boot_b for repairing. It did not work.
I tried 3 times to flash the rom, same results came, just can not go through the booting.

So I give it up and mix flash my phone with the 30b EU LG official kdz.

It looks like the T version is always the hardest one.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 10.0, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review.

    Code:
    #include "std_disclaimer.h"
    /*
     * Your warranty is now void.
     *
     * I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
     * thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
     * do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
     * before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
     * you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
     */

    What's working:
    • RIL (Calls, SMS, Data)
    • Fingerprint
    • Wi-Fi
    • Bluetooth
    • Camera
    • Video Recording
    • Video Playback
    • Audio
    • Sensors
    • Flash
    • GPS
    • DAC
    • Vibration
    • Wifi Hotspot
    • Selinux enforcing

    What's not working:
    • BT Audio in some situations

Where are the features? (LOS18.0 edition)
    • LineageOS 18.0 is in early development process so don't complain about xyz features missin or crashing!

    Instructions:
    • you flash in TWRP
    • you DONT inject TWRP (yet, when TWRP is made for metadata, then you can)
    • you reboot to other lots recovery (atm thats lineage one)
    • there you HAVE TO format data/factory reset
    • then you can install gapps and so (by apply update and adb sideload)
    • then boot system

Changed the Download Link to point to a folder on my gdrive, which will contain all future builds... There been quite the changes since last release on here and the build in there, so i might have forgotten something:

    - DAC has its own HAL now
    - Hotspot fully works now
    9
I know, its been a while, been busy with uni, but got an update for you (using it as my daily driver)

    - Switched to Z01R prebuilt Display and Media HALs
    - Building nearly everything except the necessary prebuilt from source (Display + Media HALs)
    - Fixed Wifi hotpot

    Reporting Bugs
    • DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
    • Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
    • If it is a random reboot, grab dmesg . (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
    • If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log

Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues.
