If I'm understanding A/B partitions correctly can those who are now on Android 10 Feb 20 update change slots and rollback to Android 9 Jan 20 update?

I think the cause of blackscreen is probably Xiaomi dev forgot to adding panel driver for hx8399c because in the kernel source there are only have driver for hx8399a and ili7807, from deviceinfohw.ru website mi a2 lite only has hx8399c and ili7807 LCD Panel (look at screenshot below). i might be wrong because i was only guessing.

Have you tried doing a full restore?
I would but to be honest, there's a few things wrong here like having to unpair and pair again my Bluetooth devices each time I connect or otherwise suffer low volume. I'm not feeling confident that a restore of 10 will sort it all out. I'm happy going back to 9 for now....

Very free to do this, but it is a good idea that after a version upgrade a complete restore with preventive backup is performed. Only with a "clean" system can you verify the correct functioning of the same.

Android 9 Jan 20 never felt so good!

Slot switch works but get the password screen and have to then reset again but worth it.

The bad news is that even back on Android 9 the WiFi is knackered. It only uses 2.4 GHz frequency for some reason and keeps disconnecting and reconnecting but at least it is doing this quicker than in Android 10 but I think the update to 10 borked the WiFi. Effing amazing Xiaomi. My wife's phone has same problem too.

Splitting the router into separate 2.4 and 5 GHz bands and then combining them again seems to have tricked it into using 5 GHz again. Still feel way happier back on Android 9.

It's just a problem of incompatibility of your router, I have never encountered malfunctions
