I confirm that it works. I have on the radio the phone features. I suppose the wi fi works too because if I unplug the adapter it disconnects. I hope to take some pictures tonight. I confirm it is based on rtl8723bu

Can confirm this. Wifi works over the usb dongle. Tried a lot, but no luck with the bluetooth. Tried every availaible option in factory settings.

These experience reports are good to know, but without posting details of the unit have, the factory BT module, and the factory settings for BT, they remain a guessing game.

If we want to figure out what works vs what does not, details are needed.

It seems, from all the information i have collected, with no certainty,
that the chip module version inside the usb must be GOC-MD-725 V2.4 to be able to work in android >= 8.

So I guess it's pure luck
or the latest manufactured usb's is more probable to have the latest chip version inside?
I don't know.

(y)

It would be nice to know (for both, working and not working)

- Unit type (PX5/6/30 and manufacturer) (on Settings)
- Version of Firmware (again, check settings)
- Version of OS (factory/Hal9k/...) (shouldn't be so relevant, but just in case)
- Factory Settings used for BT
- Link to the module (to make sure we are talking about the same one)

Thanks!!!

Max

I ordered both available options from the given amazon link.
Yesterday i tried the ‎EP-8568 for all factory settings, the ‎FRG002 i tried only with wq_sc6. No success, but i will try a bit more at the next weekend.

hello if it can be useful this newly arrived dongle works perfectly with my wonderfoo px5 unit. among the options you have to select the wq6 module .wi fi much better performance and clear calls. optimal.

Hi, I had the same problem as you and I bought the RF210 module on AliExpress. I have soldered it, as indicated by "abdelmonem", without removing the other module that came in the radio, when I turn it on everything works fine but without any change or variation, I still get the MD725 as the Bluetooth module and I do not get the RF210. I'm still on Android 8.0, I haven't tried to upgrade yet.

Have you been able to do it without removing the old module?

Greetings and thank you!
Hello sorry I was not online long time, if you see all pictures I attached I didn’t say you have to keep old module you have to remove it also rf210 is not compatible with android 8 version .

Hello !

I have a px5 with the gs mainboard.
Have Android 10 installed from Hal9k.

Unfortunately, since I have the MD725V1Chip, the Bluetooth does not work.

Got me a RF210 from AliExpress and soldered it in.

Factory settings on WQ_RF210 and the Bluetooth worked so far.

I have not removed MD725.

Now I have the problem that the microphone is very bad.
Crackle, rustle and very quiet.

Have also used an external one (via the adapter in the back).

A2DP and voice are good.

Hello, this board seems to be the same as CobK1ll3r, can I put the RF210 module?
My board has 11 pins and the module has 10, in case it's worth it where do I start soldering?

Hola, esta placa parece ser la misma que CobK1ll3r, ¿puedo poner el módulo RF210?
Mi placa tiene 11 pines y el módulo tiene 10, en caso de que valga la pena ¿dónde empiezo a soldar?

Hello
After test RF 210 is not compatible with your motherboard I try it with same one and I get issues , I was have olde module I removed from csn2 mcu MD 705 it’s same MD 725 working fine when I test it in same motherboard with 11 bin but I’m not sure it’s available in Chinese market it’s 10 bin also but you have first bin are canceled ,so you can search for this module will work fine with you also change it from factory settings to bc6.

Note: don’t remove old module is attached with wireless.

Csn2 is NOT MTCD. Wrong forum. FFS know what you own people.
If you see my previous comments you will see that I try Bluetooth module in deferent platform just to help others and already I try it in MTCD,MTCE,CSN2 etc

last test when @SiMo1552 visit me and we solve problem in MTCE motherboard 11 bin model with MD705 it was removed from CSN2 platform device I hope this will help people

I confirm that RF210 doesn't work with 11pin motherboard #67. It is recognized on android 9 and 10, but for both versions the phone calls didn't work as I couldn't hear anything neither the call receiver. I would like to thank @abdelmonem who solve this issue by changing the Bluetooth module.

just one thing for future I attached bin connector to motherboard after that attach the module I didn’t solder direct to main board

all test with 10 or 9 bin in motherboard
For 12 bin I didn’t trying because I don’t have it but still you can send me picture of your main board and BT module I’ll try to find out

I am not fully sure if this will always fit. I got a KLD unit and it uses MD725. The MD725 modules are integrated Bluetooth/WiFi module. The module actually is sitting on a soldered-on board which got 4 pins on one and 3 pins on the other side. Similar to this one. The one in the link seems to have only 1 RF out while my MD725 seems to have 2 antenna connectors. Might weell be that one is for BT and one for Wifi and the one on Ali is WiFi only.

    Picture of my board here.

However I had a look at pictures I took from the KLD board. On the edge of the board where the ST MCU sits (behind the FM can) I see a pinheader with 11 solder points which is unequipped. Also the surrounding passive components seem to be all equipped. The module you refer to seem to have a 10-Pin interface.

I do have another unit with WQ_BC5 bluetooth (which also works on Android 10) where a very similar pinheader is equipped with a Bluetooth module. The module however does not look identical to the one you linked but it might work. Also on this board the 11-Pin header is used while the first pin (which is "crossed" by silkscreen) is not used.

A couple of things are not fully clear to me:
    • I guess nobody will know if the pinheader is actually connected to the MCU unless it's equipped.
    • Any clue what type the module is? The chip looks like Realtek RTL8761___ which might be an RTL8761ATV. As I see it's got an UART interface it might be pretty standard.
    • Will the module eventually conflict with the built-in BT module in MD725? Likely not as I guess the USB-connected bluetooth part of MD725 will simply not be used if another BT module is selected in factory settings.
I might end up just ordering one and solder it to my board and then having to try all BT modules in factory settings in order to find the matching one.
    1
Yes, the header is correct, unless the header is for DTV like my unit.

I have no clue how this would look like.

what I would do is wire according to the schematic. Probably easier said than done, but doable.

Well, I guess there is no schematic included in the ali offering. Neither for my unit. So I will likely have to follow some traces. Or just solder it and watch out for some magic smoke.

However I believe the pinout is likely always the same on those units. Same as for those USB daughterboard modules (see my other link). However here at least the boards are usually labelling the pins.

I actually ordered one of these modules and will have a look. Perhaps soldering it into my bench unit first (replacing the WQ_BC5 module). If no magic smoke escapes I can search for the correct module type in factory settings and then solder it to my car unit.

Well, to be honest I am quite OK currently with HAL Android 9 on my car unit so I will see when I got time to try this.
