I have a version of this tablet (KingPad_SA10_EEA) in a button-less head unit (there's not even a button under the "reset hole" in the back). The AliExpress seller (also Wondefoo) sent me a system update file, but it's not being auto-detected like the video they sent suggested it should be, and I can't find any options in the menus to apply a local upgrade.

They sent a file named "full_007_23_1.0.28_230428.zip", inside the zip is META-INF, boot images, etc. They don't speak English very well and are having a hard time understanding what the issue is.

Do any of you know what the file should be named to be picked up? (This is for the system update, not the MCU update).

Do it by unzipping those files inside zip file on formatted FAT32 with default settings USB drive. When USB is prepared for update put in units port and start unit. It must autoupdate by itself or if it does not start force it by tapping with one finger on the screen till message detected apear on the screen, then it wil autoupdate. Wait till finish and wait patiently till unit gets in main desktop of Android.

After some back and forth they sent a totally different file today for me to use (just the canbus update, not the full system), which means I'm suspicious that the first set of files they sent were for a different head unit. Given all that, I should probably not try and update the full system from those first files.

Updates for touch screen, keys, canbus and other factory settings menues can be imported/installed also thru factory settings (access it with pin 8888 on the main car settings / info - wheeel icon - numbers pad - enter pin) by importing it to main memory of device, then must restart unit to apply new settings.

The update they sent today did apply (I'm trying to fix an issue where the screen it shifted slightly, cutting off the edges).

I did play around a bit in the factory settings menu, but it also wasn't working for the first set of files. Which makes me even more leery of trying the full update.

If touch screen is giving you problems just perform calibration of screen by activating it while on main desktop in Android, presss all five fingers on screen and wait for calibration to start, then follow procedure to the end.

Touching the screen seems to activate whatever is directly below my finger, is that what the calibration would be changing? The issue is that about 20px is cut off on the top and left. I didn't see anything in engineering mode to adjust that at all.

The update they sent ended up just changing which side of the screen was cut off, they adjusted it too much in the other direction.

Calibration must calibrate screen to native resolution to use whole screen area.
You haven't done that for sure, you must find a way to perform calibration on your unit or go to "OTHER" MENU of FACTORY settings and adjust touch area of the screen there, it is marked by resultion or RES, use native resultion that seller described in page whree you bought your device and set it - like set x 1200, y 680 or 800x600 etc.

I'm not sure we're talking about the same thing? This is the shift I mean:

The screen resolution is correct, but the image is shifted off-screen.

Isn't touch calibration to make sure where you're touching matches what's on screen? I'm not sure that would move the image over.

Well it is , I tought your touch area isn't configured well and is shifted to the left.

You can correct this maybe in factory settings "other" menu, there is an option to adjust y and x axis of screen. Option is called I think RES or something like that, and have to options to set x axis which is horizontal and y axis is vertical.

Adding a separate pin for ILL wire is correct aproach, but must connect it to both to radio and canbus box by joint (one pin to the radio cable - then splits in two one for canbus and one goes in corresponding pin on pin connector of radio).
It will work and with no problems causing for device by electric means.
The mechanic I hired cut the wire from the canbus box and inserted it into the quadlock socket. So now the button lights turn on with the car lights. But the dash dimmer has to stay on full brightness; the radio flickers if the dimmer is set lower. I guess the dimmer actually decreases the signal voltage, and the radio only works with +12V on that line.

RED wire or ACC/KEY IGNITION should be connected from quadlock to joint - splits into two, one for unit and one for canbus
ILL wire (orange/white) responsible to communicate with car lights must be connected + and - from quadlock to joint - splits in two - one for unit ILL port and for canbus ILL port
Voltages on ILL wire must be arround 3V to 6V max I think. Anything after 6V goes as static interference and flickering of the screen and may in some cases blow the multimedia radio fuse - 10A

The version I have isn't really a "radio", it's a tablet-ish thing that replaces the BMW screen and has a passthrough cable that plugs into the car's head unit, and can read/intercept CAN bus events to support steering wheel controls/iDrive etc.

I got this unit, too. Guess there will be some more information around soon since these are new and very fast units on the market. Mine has 8/128 GB of RAM. Don't like the resolution of the 32 band Equalizer and Radio but everything works pretty fast, so its ok for me. If there are more informations around also how to upgrade to a better Equalizer and Radio App, please share your information

Guys, can you show me the factory settings as I have a major problem finding an option to switch off the standby mode? I can drop some screens from my radio if needed.

    Hello Rom80.
I have the same equipment as you, a Wondefoo 8/128G. In my case everything works fine except that the reversing camera shows the inverted image (the sky and clouds are seen at the bottom of the screen).
If you want to send us the screenshots of all the factory setting screens, there are about 25 images. Or we share the settings configuration file "ZQ_FACTORY_SET". The latter is more dangerous because we can have a nice brick.
Have you touched anything in the settings?

Remember to make the backup of the configuration before carrying out any operation, in a USB formatted in fat32.

It seems the ILL wire on the Ford harness isn't used in these model years, so it has to be CANbus. Dang.
Actually, according to the factory service manual for this model year, the ILL wire is still provided. So adding the pin to the wiring harness may be the right approach after all. I noticed that some of the cable sets on Aliexpress appear to have this pin (from their photo) while most don't.
