Android 11 Released (Sept 8 2020)

Requirements
Unlocked bootloader.
A computer with ADB and Fastboot installed.
USB debugging enabled.
Android 11 factory or OTA image (links below).

Warning
You must understand the risks involved and take full responsibility for your actions. You can proceed with confidence that the method does work. Still, things can go wrong. In which case, you must understand that you were warned, and you still went with it anyway.

Furthermore, installing Android 11 will completely wipe your device. Therefore, make sure you have backed up everything important, including files and folders on your device’s internal storage.

Hello
I managed to get AOSP Android R running on Pixel 2 XL via the new website flash.android.com . However, it's still in the very initial stages with barebones on 11 and GAPPS are still not integrated/baked into it.

Tried using OPEN GAPPS pico but still no go.

Let's keep this thread alive. Will keep you all posted if there is any success :good:

No baseband? Do you have any type of service with this version or is it still to early to even test RIL yet?

Basic services are strating up.
RIL is a bit wonky at the moment.
Waiting for things to get stabilized, to soon to share.

indeed, please do share as development progresses, especially RIL so we can test it in real life. I cant test it until RIL works so I have voice/data/messaging

Flash-all.bat works just fine. All up and running, so far so good. Calls, wifi & bluetooth all working..

Flashed the OTA yesterday with TWRP, seems pretty stable. Looks like they folded in some gesture tweaks and scheduled dark mode.

Went back to a 10 custom ROM, it was pretty stable though. The tweaks reminded me of what ABC/DU has.

Yeah this gesture tweaks would help I guess. I like the gesture control but it definitely causes problems using my right hand and trying to open hamburger menus on the left side of the screen.

My shoulder has been starting to hurt from holding the phone up in the same hand for over a decade....the gesture control allows me to actually control the phone pretty well with my off hand except for stuff like the hamburger menu.

Just now I sideloaded the Android 11 OTA of preview 1 on my P2XL without issues yet, we'll see how's it going...

I'm fully stock, just activated OEM unlock and ADB but smooth sailing so far!


Edit: of course data is being kept by using the OTA package

Same here, I can only seen to use it properly when 3 button nav is enabled.

Guys with Verizon versions you cant revert back to android 10.
