Tried on my OP9 last night. Before reading it's not for NA. Even patched magisk after OTA. found out the hard way. Luckily T-Mobile msm came in handy lol.
Did you purchase through tmobile? I purchased mine though best buy
So no one managed to install this preview on the OP 9 pro ?
It was a 100% miss?

If you are on NA (N. American). Most jumped the gun with thrill of a new beta. Go test and let us know

I really heavily on my phone. I am not a student. I cannot dive in if I don't have a decent amount of positive experience from other users.
Last year I used Android 11 on my Pixel 4 Xl since developer preview 3 and I was satisfied but it was after a few nice people share their positive experience with it.

I didn't find any extensive report on Android 12 for OnePlus yet.

That's because DP 1 was just released yesterday for the very first time. Also many people don't understand this is not even beta. This is like buying a home with only the foundation and frame work done. Nothing else. What most people want is Open Beta and that is a few months away. Developers Preview if I may offer you one more analogy is like the first Starship Space X launched. They just launched SN15. They started with Serial Number 1 SN1.

Ok, sorry I didn't. 😔

So the quick settings tiles are still the same as in 11 ?
Are you happy with the beta after 48 hours ?

I'm back on OxygenOS11. I wouldn't judge the appearance, it's the first DP build, it will likely all change by the time OxygenOS 12 comes out.

OnePlus have already said they're adding a "theme store" although how much customisation it will offer remains to be seen.

I have a suspicion it's just a reworking of their existing customisation menu and will likely only offer colour changes, icons and wallpapers. All of which we can already do.

Does 12 remove or fix scoped storage? Quite a few apps not working as they should because of that.

I might try it again, I managed to do an initial root and it booted initally from the rooted boot image, then it started going awry, although saying that, it's REALLY not polished. Not worth it for a non-developer.

Welp, tried rooting the hotfix DP, still get the same result which makes me nervous for OxygenOS12...

Flashed the DP fine
Extracted the payload.bin and rooted the boot image no problem with Magisk
Was able to boot into the rooted boot image using fastboot and it does boot up on the phone
Rooted the installed boot image and restarted
Then it just gets stuck at the unlocked warning, when you force a restart it just goes straight to bootloader

Hopefully it's just a problem with the current version because if that behaviour is going to extend to the released version we're kinda screwed unless someone takes over from John Wu

I can confirm that I had the exact same behavior with magisk (if you boot the rooted DP it actually works as intended but if you decide to flash would brick the device. Anyway I decided to keep rocking the DP as Daily Driver but I can't wait for a updated version with a more "real" Android 12 look. When you guys think the next DP will arrive?

Hey guys and girls,

Just switched from the S21 Ultra to the OnePlus 9 Pro. Some might see it as a downgrade of some sorts, but with the S21 crashing on me multiple times a day, I took it to cex and made it someone elses problem lol

Anyway, how is Android 12 on the OP9P? Pretty stable for a beta? Daily driver useable?

Thanks all! :)

Ready to get started on the Android 12 Beta?
Note: Please note this build is not suitable for devices in North America. The updated version will be shared later.

Want to go back to Android 11? Download the Rollback package from the links below:
DP to MP rollback guide - via Local OTA update
Note: This upgrade method will erase all the contents of the phone, please be sure to backup first.

    1. Download the latest ROM upgrade zip package from the specified server.
    2. Copy the Rollback package to the phone storage.
    3. Install this apk. You'll need it to rollback. Then, open the app -> tap the top right gear icon -> find the downgrade package and tap it -> wait to finish the installation -> tap reboot
    4. After the upgrade is complete, click Restart.
    5. Update successful.

    First thoughts :
Vibration motor fans will be pleased, it's a lot more prominent.
Very slow boot on this build
Boot logo is a bit weird, OnePlus logo bleeding from white to red and alternating
If you install it then reduce the display size, default is horrible.

If you can download it you're a better man than me, just keeps sending me in a loop back to the forum post.

OK, Never mind, they jumped the gun...

Note: Links will be added shortly

    Known Issues
    • All data will be cleared while flashing the build
    • Video call function is not available
    • Fingerprint unlock and face unlock are unavailable
    • Certain UI screens look less than desirable
    • Some apps may not function as expected
    • System stability issues

Woah, think I'll wait for the DP2

Dude, it's a first developer preview, there won't be any "fixes"
Developer Preview is like a proof of concept and for app developers to test their apps on different phones on the new OS version.
When OxygenOS12 reaches the betas is when OnePlus will start working on features, fixes, etc.
