THREAD CLEANED

Hi all - just dropping in to announce that some posts were edited, some were removed. This was necessary since the thread got too derailed and some of the posts were straight up unacceptable.

@jaseman @googlesuxdix May I remind you both of Rule 2 of the Forum Rules:
2. Member conduct.

2.1
Language: XDA is a worldwide community. As a result, what may be OK to say in your part of the world, may not be OK elsewhere. Please don't direct profanity, sexually explicit language or other offensive content toward Members or their work. Conversely, while reading posts from other members, remember that the word you find offensive may not be offensive to the writer. Tolerance is a two-way street.

2.2 Nudity: XDA is used by people of all ages, including minors. It is unacceptable to post nude or pornographic imagery, which includes the exposure of male or female genitalia and / or female breasts.

2.3 Flaming / Lack of respect: XDA is about sharing and this does not involve virtual yelling (flaming) or rudeness. Flaming or posting with a lack of respect is unacceptable. Treat new members in the manner in which you would like to have been treated when you were a new member. When dealing with any member, provide them with guidance, advice and instructions when you can, showing them respect and courtesy. Never post in a demanding, argumentative, disrespectful or self-righteous manner.

2.4 Personal attacks, racial, political and / or religious discussions: XDA is a discussion forum about certain mobile phones. Mobile phones are not racial, political, religious or personally offensive and therefore, none of these types of discussions are permitted on XDA.

2.5 All members are expected to read and adhere to the XDA rules.

Kindly consider this a friendly reminder to keep it civil, on-topic and refrain from putting fuel to fire by responding to posts that you think are offensive or hateful. Just report if you feel something isn't right and let us take care of it for you, so that we can make your experience on the forum better. :)

Now let's all take a deep breath, and get back on topic, shall we?

Regards,

I have encountered this as well. I believe this is a bug in the xperia companion not being able to either connect to the sony servers properly or getting incomplete information about the latest update from sony's servers. This happened to me when Android 12 OTA appeared for my phone, so it is confirmed that I can received the update via OTA,. But when I tried to use Xperia Companion instead on that very day the OTA update appeared, the above happened.

Note I don't think there is anything wrong with the connection between the phone and the PC. Because for some reason, even though software update using Xperia companion didn't work, using Software repair worked fine, and it downloaded the latest update with android 12 before repairing my phone. YMMV for this though.

Nothing seems fixed for the XQ-BC62. No SA 5G, no Wi-Fi Calling, and my phone still constantly unlocks itself. It got uglier - that's all.

You can set SA 5G in Developer options - prefer 5G NR mode - wifi calling based on provider?

No real SA 5G where I live. Only NSA. Don't even get that. It says 4G all the time lol.
That's the setting I used to test if it has SA 5G yet. Selecting "SA Mode" drops it to LTE. When it's in "NSA + SA Mode", it's using the nonsense aggregation of LTE 66 + NR 71 meant for SA phones. All the phone's diagnostics say "LTE" when the 5G indicator is on. If it was legit, the diagnostics would say "NR".
