That's the firmware that I got here in the US as well at the beginning of the week...
Not a fan of 12 UI I must say, everything is unnecessarily way too big and if you adjust fonts and screen size to make the UI a somewhat normal size, you then can't see **** in some other apps

Workaround for Google's broken microSd access
The LTE + NR71 combo it uses for NSA 5G drops a lot and can take minutes to recover.
I'm using old versions of apps to not hit Google's Nov 2021 mandatory migration to SAF for microSd. Google's SAF is so broken that apps only lock up or crash using it. Some phone makers are providing an SAF bypass setting that gets them Google certified without permanently losing microSd use.
According to this tweet by the guy who runs www.cacombos.com, Android 12 added new 5G CA combos to the Asian model of the Xperia 1 III. Maybe the update for Android 12 will do the same for the U.S. model. One can only hope.
