But you got 61.1.A.2.211 right ?My phone updated today to Android 12. I guess the USA is getting it now
That's the firmware that I got here in the US as well at the beginning of the week...
It rolled out to all Xq-bc52 variants too( we had 61.1.A.1.149 until now). I'm updating now.
You wouldn't know the phone was updated except for Google ruining the pull-down shortcuts menu. Sony could have used the upgrade as an opportunity to fix a ton of major problems holding back the entire Xperia III/IV line but they did nothing. So, what's the verdict 5 months later? How many have updated to 12 and what's your opinion?
phones sold in Russian region do not have this luxury. for me android 12 is just a mirage
sony is lazy af to just turn on material uFrom my point of view A12, with the battery drain issue (which in Android 11 with the Xperia 1 III was very bad) it was a substantial improvement.
The bad thing is the interface. The UI ruins the entire user experience.
Sony should listen to customers and make an "aesthetic" change as it already worked in previous versions of Android.
a12 takes some use to. but after being on a11 gssi Evo, for a month .. ill stay with stock CN a12 .140.. its less bloated but in doing so. You might want to go with TW or Russia firmware first , becuase of gooogle sign in and restoring device setting. then flash cn keep data and it will still workSo, what's the verdict 5 months later? Well neither, but I guess the shop itself will send it to Sony as it was purchased as used but with warranty. I'm little sceptical about it as I think their solution will be to exange it for a different phone at the same/higher price. What a pain. Sounds like a bad phone. Can you return the phone to the mobile sim company or does it have to go to Sony?

Edit: Sorry mate I'm a dum dum.
BC52 however RMA ended with them returning money to me so I bought another unit second hand and that one works fine. (With known bugs ofc)What model number is it? And since it's used it's possible it was cross flashed...mine is a XQ-BC72 running SEA firmware but i cross flashed it to XQ-BC62 US firmware because I'm on Metro PCS but that shot my Sim and i couldn't make any calls or send texts...that is untill i out the SEA firmware back on....
According to this tweet by the guy who runs www.cacombos.com, Android 12 added new 5G CA combos to the Asian model of the Xperia 1 III. Maybe the update for Android 12 will do the same for the U.S. model. One can only hope. These two are a daily hassle that I'd love to see fixed:
- SA 5G fix for USA model
- Workaround for Google's broken microSd access
The LTE + NR71 combo it uses for NSA 5G drops a lot and can take minutes to recover.
I'm using old versions of apps to not hit Google's Nov 2021 mandatory migration to SAF for microSd. Google's SAF is so broken that apps only lock up or crash using it. Some phone makers are providing an SAF bypass setting that gets them Google certified without permanently losing microSd use.
if it cannot have 4K res no matter what, it shouldn't be called "4K display" anymore.By default the screen res is more like 2k, 1096x2560, try wm size. In A11 you could force this to 4k by using the same command, but that doesn't work anymore. Sad.
