I went to the sammobile page every day like clockwork for all of November. Was doing the same for December and finally saw it.

It didn't pop up until TODAY, December 7th, 2022, despite being labeled November 29th, 2022.

But its here. Interest in this device seemed to evaporate with Android 11, so I have no idea if Android 12 or 13 can be rooted at all. Unless a clear answer to that, and if the old rooting technique will work, and if magisk can still be used or if some sort of alternative is necessary, guess I'll stick to 10.

But for the handful that still have the phone and don't root, Android 13 is finally here.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10+
On this phone I would stay on 9 or 10. Android 13 is so far worse than 12 and many have rolled back to 11 from 12. CPU cycle sucking scoped storage is active from 11 up with more security garbage piled into 12, think 13 will be any better?
Or more of the same crap?
I'm not buying the Google hype, both Google and Samsung are on a 3 year losing streak of bad choices and products. Obviously you can upgrade at any time; let Mikey try it first🤣

Yes, well... it might take some time if they do release updates for this old model. I would have left running on Pie.
Who's laughing now?🤣
I actually stayed on 10 with this phone, since I was unsure if I upgraded if the same root method would still work.

But I've been following the updates out of morbid curiosity + the longshot hope someone would be brave enough to try with a more current (11 and up) iteration of Android. Alas.

I have two N10+'s one running on 9, the newer on 10. Very unlikely either will ever be upgraded.
The Pie one seems to run best and is easier to work with. Current load is 3 yo now, still fast and stable; no way I'm messing with that.
Personally I wouldn't upgrade past 10 as you will lose more than you gain. Both 9 and 10 are secure unless you do stupid things.
Less downtime means more playtime...

Okay so I finally decided to try and root my Note 10 Lite
I feared Android 13 and One UI 5.1 would lock me or make it softlock but it worked
(PS : TWRP also work)

For those who just want to root it you can follow the guide in the comment here
For those who wants to root and install TWRP, take the TWRP here (it's the r7 link) and put it inside the AP.tar you made with Magisk (it's the simplest way) (and don't forget to do step 6 of the TWRP guide, no other steps are required from it)
Don't forget to install Magisk Manager once flashed or you won't be able to access or give root
For those who needs the stock firmware and can't find it it's available on samfw.com

Thanks for taking the risk. lol And glad it worked and you were't softbricked.

One question I always ask, and I never get an answer...if its dumb I apologize...but is TWRP ONLY for custom roms, or can you use stock roms as well you just have to repeat the root process? Basically I'd like a simpler way than using Odin so I don't have to wipe my data every time.

If its only for custom roms, guess I'm stuck with Odin, but it would mean TWRP isn't for me (plus can't find custom roms for this device).

Thanks in advance.

Yeah I was almost certain that I wouldn't have any problem going back to stock if I could go into the bootloader
I bootloop twice while trying différent methods and could get back thanks to that until I finally found the comment I liked
Then I just crossed my figer when I found the TWRP and no guide to actually make it myself to be sure and was glad it still worked

From what I could find while not actually touching it and what I saw today, it's stock compatible (on the guide I liked for TWRP it even tell to put TWRP before to flash Magisk made Boot image, but flashing them at the same time works flawlessly and TWRP doesn't have much use if not for root) So it should be good to use it, just know that even with stock firmware, if TWRP is installed as the recover.img you will still have the warning message of using custom firmware not secure blablabla bull**** of Samsung (while it's not wrong, we know the risks of it)

If its only for custom roms, guess I'm stuck with Odin, but it would mean TWRP isn't for me (plus can't find custom roms for this device).
Yeah that was the reason I didn't want to root my spare phone until now, but since it's on the end of update support I figured why not root it anyway
Maybe one day I'll try creating a Lineage port for it if I have the courage and time to learn how to but to this day the only "official" custom you can have it Magisk root and TWRP

No problem ^^
