Has anyone tried this for our S21 FE? And, what is XAA?

It's much more advisable to wait for the direct update as opposed to obtaining it from 3rd party sources. Especiallly if one's purpose in obtaining the update in the first instance is security.

I must say to all of you on the US with the S21 FE (SM-G990U1), we are expected to get the One UI 5 update this month, January. I talked to Samsung and they said it's going through the final phases finishing up bug fixing and readying it for release. It is expected within the coming weeks. It is hard to trust Samsung on this although as we've been deceived time and time again. I'm quite sure it should arrive though as in CheckFirm it seems they've made one of their last test builds of One UI 5.

No update here either and I'm only on the November security update.
I got the November Patch in early December showing they're behind schedule. I talked to Samsung and it is expected to release in the following weeks within this month. Their update pattern and CheckFirm show that they are nearing launch and are in fact behind compared to the last update that being the November Patch.

But they do support the non "DS" (dual SIM) version. In general, AT&T has become very picky lately on which devices they'll deem "compatible". And for no good reason.
Yeah, I have Cricket which is based on AT&T and it works fine. Voice-mail works, 5G, LTE, DS, youu name it. Only issue is that the built in Samsung Messages app isn't allowed to use RCS by Cricket so I use Google Messages.

It would most likely work but it could pose quite a few issues with it as it isn't built specifically for the SM-G990U1.

I'm sure most of you are happy but I have to say something. I got February patch with One UI 5 in January. Then, in only a week, I got the January patch. I was excited for this update hoping they'd improve the battery. Nope, they rushed it way too quickly. There's many bugs and issues. I mean, it is still smooth but there's three main issues I encounter on a somewhat frequent basis.

1. Fingerprint Animation - This animation every now and then will freeze. I don't know why but it is just a neat little thing the S21 FE has now, yay...
2. Bluetooth Connectivity - The connectivity is fine but there's a really annoying issue that may lead to battery drain. For some of my Bluetooth devices, if you try to pair even though they're turned off, it will keep attempting for as long as the phone is on.
3. Checkmarks - Yes, you heard that right, damn checkmarks. You now when you go to select a files, image, or whatnot and a checkmark appears right next to it? Yeah, those are now broken. Most of the time they'll disappear but in some instances they'll be lightly highlighted around the edges but no actual color to be seen.

I really hope Samsung fixes these and many more issues like battery life which has been torturous since release.
