Unfortunately I don't have a bluetooth mic

No, the problem is not in the kernel.

Unfortunately, this is not possible to fix at all. The problem is that manufacturer didn't set correct configuration for voice call recording. We can't change the configuration because we don't have a special tool for OEMs. Source code which responsible for this is closed, of course. There's no documentation as well.

I had a Pixel for a few days...

Stock settings worked alright, although WiFi calling did not record properly...

Bluetooth calling did not record the other person.

Switched back to my Note 7 for the time being... (I'm going to miss it soooooooo much)

Hopefully you can improve the Pixel's recording with some tweaks...

Nothing can be done on this device without root.

Hi skvalex, I'm on a Galaxy S5 device using CAF. My issue is that incoming calls are automatically recorded, but outgoing calls I am having to press the in-call button manually. Any ideas on how to have it automated?

1. What version of SuperSU are you using? Make sure it's the latest.
2. You can disable "Start recording on answer" in Settings > Recording.

Is there anybody who has already got root on Pixel (XL)? Here's an apk with Google Pixel (XL) presets, can you check it and let me know if it works with CAF recording method?

Seems to work fine on a rooted Pixel XL without having to install the patch. Nice work!

Edit: Bluetooth works, too.
