That is the best place.
So you downloaded the zip file in my OP, extract its contents, and flashed those? I want to make sure we are on the same page.
Some people are getting confused in thinking this is a flashable zip that you would do in CWR, which it is not.
That's correct, I dropped my Streak down to FroYo, downlaoded your .zip, extracted them to a folder, booted into Fastboot, ran "fastboot flash system system.img -w" and "fastboot flash boot boot.img -w" and I'm stuck at the Dell logo on the first boot. I know that after flashing you can wait for the first boot for a while, so I left it for an hour and no go...

I FINALLY got the Honeycomb update.pkg to download so I'll try running that from the stock recovery and give your boot/system.img another try after that.

Once your on Froyo, you must install the Update.pkg right then from the stock recovery. After that Fastboot the boot and system images. I only used the "-w" on the system image file. Giveen included CWM with B5 but it's not included with the B5.0.1 zip. The Gapps package from TheManii wouldn't install from CWM for me but TWRP 2.1.4 worked.

Thanks, I was just going to ask if I use the -w switch on each flash. I accidentally downloaded the HC update.zip instead of the PKG, so I'm waiting for that to download and I'll flash that in stock recovery. At what point do I flash TWRP?

Oh good! the PKG is 80% downloaded... will keep you posted.

UPDATE: Success! Upgrading to HC first is what did the trick. For anybody that is curious here was the successful sequence:

1: downgrade to FroYo and rebuild stock partitions. I used the steps in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1018809
2: upgrade to stock Honeycomb. I used the LG7_514_21700_30.pkg downloaded from TheManII's Dev-Host account: http://d-h.st/users/TheManii/?fld_id=1676#files
3: Fastboot flash TWRP recovery, then the new boot, then the new system with the -w switch.

Now, I'm installing GApps and all the apps I used to have. Can't wait for the Kindle app to work again...

Giveen, wptski: thank you for your work, advice, and patience!

UPDATE2: Booted into TWRP and my external SD can't mount... any ideas? Nevermind, I found it under SDC...

I flashed the Gapps package from TheManII and from GooInside.me and both do the same thing: "Installation complete" but after reboot the Gapps aren't there. Permissions issue?

UPDATE: Looks like the Play Store installed that time... I'll get the rest through the store.

If you have the Play Store, it installed. I don't know anything about the GooInside.

Successful install via TWRP on Stock Honeycomb

Thanks to you devs for this excellent ROM.

I was fortunate to have a stock honeycomb so I installed the latest TWRP Recovery 2.2.2.1 from this thread, restored to factory defaults, and flashed TheManii's beta 5 zip linked on the front page. Everything worked well, but there was no gapps or market.

After searching this thread I eventually found reference to TheManii's gapps file which I downloaded in his separate thread. Flashed that from TWRP and now everything works great!

I am trying to turbo install everything from my ICS phone onto the tablet by doing a Titanium Backup, sync to dropbox, and install. I expect it to go without a hitch!

Not only is ICS an upgrade, it is a performance upgrade! The tablet was just not usable on honeycomb for me. Incredibly sluggish -- whether it was something I did to it or whether it was that way from the factory, I don't know. But now the thing just zips around. Thanks again!

I was not able to resolve the issue of the icons running off the edge of the screen even after playing with the dpi settings. So I researched the best launcher for tablets and installed GO Launcher HD free edition. It goes perfect with this ROM and I'd recommend it at least until the Trebuchet problems are fixed.

Please say thanks if this was helpful ;)

Thanks for the tip. That has been bugging me a ton!

A question for everyone running this rom. Does anyone have a working GPS on the latest version? I have tried every fix, agps data cleared and re-downloaded.... nothing seems to work.

I just bought this device for a car computer/navigation, so the GPS is pretty important to me. Maybe I'll have to go back to honeycomb, but I'm willing to help in any way I can to fix this. I'm just wondering if I'm missing something simple.

Actually I think its something I might have done. Let me do a new build, test gps, and then I think I might have the fix if it doesn't work.
If the fix works, I'll push out a new update. I'm really busy working on CM10 but I understand this is a core feature.

Sounds like a plan. I appreciate the quick response, and I will try to help in any way I can. If you want me to test anything out, let me know! Thanks again.
