Just as a side note, they actually have a triple boot on the Nook color. I can boot as a standard Nook or into Honeycomb or ICS. So not really into an entirely different OS but different iterations of a single OS.

Hi all,

can't wait to test ICS but also can't live without camera for Skype nor can I stand few hours battery live due to the brightness problem.

Is any of the mentioned problems solved and when beta 4.5 is expected to be released?

Cheers guys, great work! ;]

Use the app "Root Dim" to temp fix the brightness issue.
We are working on radio's as work on camera has stopped for a while.

@giveen

Duh, I know that, but it was just a general question if dual boots were possible. I didn't assume it was a Streak only question.

By they way keep up the good work!

OK,

I flashed BETA4 and it worked. But during initial configuration I noticed my WiFi MAC address has changed? Why is that? During NVFlash of StreakDroid HD R2 my MAC stayed untouched... I was able to restore it the way it was before flashing ICS.

Despite this I'm still interested in using ICS but would really appreciate that my MAC stays as it is. Is that possible?

And few other questions:
1. Why android market looks and feels like the one from smart phones not tablets?
2. Is trebuchet finally resized or it needs resizing? Cause top row of icons on each homescreen is just under the apps button and search bar. It's pretty annoying when after installation shortcut is added half outside the screen area xD

BTW, first impression of ICS is really good but had to go back to my backed-up HC.

just a note,
when i initially installed beta4 i was able to download the chrome beta app from market. the app had an update, and it no longer recognizes my streak as a ics device. says only compatible with devices running android 4.0+

just figured as you guys are working on the new release, you'd like to know that so a proper build.prop device designation could be done to enable as many ics apps as possible.

thanks again for your hard work, very much so looking forward to the next release

may i request a wifi only version?

Chrome beta seems to specificlly whitelist certian devices, as in it'll only run on specific ones with ICS (and not only ICS)

There's a patched chrome beta apk on the portal, you could always pretend your're a gnex too.

Hey,

is someone able to anwser my question about preventing MAC change while flasching ICS B4?
It's a known issue. My HC backup was created using My Backup Pro. The developer suppied reactivation number won't work but once because of this change in MAC address on reboot.

Under "ro.build.id" change it to "IML74K" without quotes of course and it should work.

If this is a known issue why isn't there a known solution? I know that changing MAC for HTC Hero is possible (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=686789) so maybe it can be done for Streak 7?

I really would like to test Beta 4 out but I have to stick to my current MAC address ;]

Are you complaining because the MAC is constantly changing which is a known issue or that you want to be able to change it?

There are several issues and we just have to wait for the issues to be solved.

Changed MAC is the only problem for me so I just wanted to be sure I tried everything.
Thanks for help anyway. Will wait for this issue to be solved someday.

Honestreak does the same thing, drives me crazy. First off my router at work only has 30 leases so I had to lower the release down to like 30 minutes or I'd _eventually_ run out of leases (with other people using it) because every day (sometimes a few times a day when it rebooted) my DS7 would get a new IP. Second, I like knowing the IP so I can adb wifi into it..

I was very careful NOT to mess with the last two partitions which have that information stored, but who knows..
