Android Pie 9.0 for vivo nex

So, Android Pie 9.0 is released today, and the update will be available today for Google phones as well as essential phone.

Anyone who has used Vivo phones in past has any idea how much time does Vivo take to release the new version to their devices? Eagerly waiting to taste a new Android and hoping that Vivo cuts down the Extravagant iOS-ish UI and goes for much cleaner, stock UI.

Vivo has confirmed that it is set to roll out Android 9.0 Pie to its users in the fourth quarter of 2018.

OMG and that Funtouch launcher really sucks as usual :laugh:
When unboxing for the first time it’s the most frustrating thing about Vivo Nex.

Nothing a little Nova flavor can't solve.

But man I still find this device so cool, I might very well end up buying this, even though it has almost zero chances of unlocking the bootlloader... ("where's the fun in that?" I would exclamate in the past... :angel

Yes indeed the device it’s really loving piece of technology
Offer a WOW design that you can not resist

Despite some limitations software related but still loving it.

After all I found the right formula and everything works as I want.

Not Note 9 not even OnePlus 6T that I had for one week each other made me get rid of Vivo Nex.

I can’t get used to any kind notch even small one and honestly I found many bugs on OnePlus 6T especially with third party app(Nova launcher,google keyboard,Player Pro) also off screen gesture does not perform so well like double tap to wake or music control gestures like on Vivo Nex.

So I’ve decided to keep Vivo Nex at least until next summer and see then what competition will unveiling.

Offer a WOW design that you can not resist

Despite some limitations software related but still loving it.

After all I found the right formula and everything works as I want.

By the way, do you use any black theme?
What do you think about the theme store by Vivo?

Would love to be able to put some use to the amoled screen throughout the menus, sub-menus and maybe even some apps.

Unfortunately Vivo theme store is a crap.
Totally childish theme for girls and boys under 10 years old.

Another negative is that most of themes are paid and the free is garbage.

Sammy theme store is miles better in all aspect

So I used some custom theme that you can find in Vivo Nex themes,app and mods thread.

Yeah I had already checked that out, but always nice to have the feedback. from someone who owns the device. So thanks again!

I guess if I want the closest thing to pure black, I'll have to stick to the MIUI 9 dark theme then... which by the comments on it, is more kind of greyish like .

doesnt really matter if you are using nova and your own icon sets, what matter is that their apps are very smooth in performance and bug free

I would give it a try if I was able to downgrade to 8.1 if I'm not satisfied with open beta Pie rom.

Unless Vivo allows that option.:fingers-crossed:

With chrome there's option translate entire page to English or other language want.
As far I can see most changes is all about Chinese app and services like Jovi improvement etc.

Nothing dramatically special useful to western user.

i ask the vivo support, what´s all about the Pie beta program and if they can give me more information about it. and i got answer from them, they gave me the Registration app and tutorial, i share Screenshot and the app if someone is interested in this!
