So does this mean with new update we can finally use the Google APK camera app then ?
)))Sorry I dont know how to port the google camera into my phone.
I can check if it support camera2 api only.
I also checked that the phone still not support raw on 9.0.
Can anyone test if substratum still works without root? Pie should have disabled it, but on Samsung Roms it still works, maybe it's the same since the Sony theme engine is still included in the Pie build.

We have now Camera2Api on our Xperias but no RAW Yet.
Let me Play around with IT, maybe can i enable RAW and ZSL.
Oh and Dark Mode... Enabled in Developer Settings switchable in Display Settings.
We can also use the Full Resolution on 3rd Party Cameras Like Open Camera now... (19MP)(4K)

battery life isnt as good as oreo I got to be honest now, I think sony could have done more work on the battery and the smoothness of the UX
also animations when opening apps or closing, going back in apps or when rotating the device feels very very buggy, id like someone who has pie to confirm this is a common issue and not just me.

I got 5 hours SOT using YouTube,music,chrome. Unplugged at 6:20 it's 6:52pm right now and I have 11% left.
I found this when I used acticity launcher. Ambient display isn't in settings. I also installed one handed mode, appeared in settings but it s not working....

mate how did you get VoLTE working? I just flashed mine back to a G8142 with the VN firmware and can't get VoLTE to work. Even with *#*#4636#*#* the VoLTE and Wifi Calling is greyed out.

I've had Pie for a 2 days now. After the install, i did a software repair with xperia companion, I then allow the battery to drain completely before doing a full charge. So far since 7am this morning with full time bluetooth on and hot spots etc, my phone is sitting at 80%. 7 hrs of use so far with 20% drain.
how is the camera?is there anything changed like hdr video recording or improvement in night photos?
I gotta say, Auto mode at night is actually pretty good now. I've just taken some sample shots and theres less noise. I'll try to post up a shot.
Well its now 8:45pm AEST. I've had my phone off the charger since 7am. 13hrs and 45min of use - Hotspot for son's ipad which has been streaming kids youtube videos since 10am til 1pm then again from 3pm til 6pm. Bluetooth on to sync with my Ticwatch S. numerous phone calls and whatsapp, email etc. I'm now down to 42%.
According to my androids battery health, its guestimating my battery should drain by 4:21AM 16th of November.
13 hours of solid use with 42% battery left....... I'd say that's pretty good...... Did you read the whole post?
