So just now reading that TMob phones don't get the Pixel updates like everyone else?
I'd been refreshing my 'check update' all day, and nothing.
Over on Twitter the masses are getting uneasy.
I know I (and most of XDA) are in the minority about demanding timely updates compared to the average consumer, but honestly if I'd known that TMob holds back Pixel updates, I might have switched carriers before this purchase.
Thankfully I purchased it unlocked from Google, and might look at porting it tomorrow. (Yes yes, I know I can sideload. And I probably will tonight. It's about the principal. I don't like being tied to a carrier that delays updates, esp updates directly from Google.)

Let me know if you want a Project Fi referral code. :D
With Fi I'm on T-Mo 99% of the time. :good:

The good news is that you have a pixel and updating an OTA with adb takes about 5 minutes.

I've been mulling that for ages. I am on Ting, which is great, but there's a minor difference between the two. Namely that on the high end of a possible monthly bill/data use, P-Fi tops out with it's Bill Protection feature. But on the low end, P-Fi will never be as cheap as my occasional $40 for two lines bill. Haven't decided which is more relevant to me n my family yet. When my kid hits cell phone age (in a few more years), absolutely P-Fi will be the way to go.

I was about to do this, DL'ed all the necessary bit's, and then I remembered...

I wasn't getting the update so I popped in an old SIM card and the update came up.
This was a fun little project for me. I'd never had to trim a SIM before, but the only old SIM I had was an old Sprint "whatever the middle size is called" SIM sitting in my desk. Trimmed that puppy down, slipped it in, and BAM. Here. We. Go.

why on the earth does Weather on lock screen/ambient display doesn't work ?
i did a fresh install and it worked for like 30 mins and then GONE.....
Is it working on your pixel launcher? I had this problem on Oreo and I had to go into app settings>pixel launcher>storage then clear storage and cache. It's a bit of pain because you gotta set up your launcher again, but it brought back Weather for me. Oh yeah, also enable location for the launcher in permissions. Hope this works for you.

I only have one line, but by optimizing my wifi use, I keep my Fi costs low. :good:

I'm reading that videos stutter with the Pie update and there is some lag. Is this true?

Can we downgrade back to Oreo?

Ok, now they're forcing me to use the new Chrome that has no option for address bar on the bottom. Is there a way to downgrade it to version 65?

Also, horizontal recent apps view... Please tell me the trick that would get me the vertical one back. This is so bad, not even funny. (Rooted)

I just did that today. Download the image and then use the included flash all and instructions on the Google image page. Took me 3 minutes to flash. It wiped everything. I can now get OTAs.

Having a problem here. Stock Rooted with Magisk and Flash Kernal. Took the OTA for Pie installed properly. Fast booted TWRP 3.2.1 installed TWRP 3.2.2 zip, then Flash Kernal 3.0, Then Magisk 16.7-1674. Stuck on G logo. I can get back into TWRP. Any suggestions?
