I am currently can't recieve any notification on apps like face, youtube,... at all eventhough all of them are still turn on, mine is xz1 also VN 47.2.a.33

LAGS

I see lags in many apps ... not all when scrolling down or up... (when it slows down it starts this laggy stopping off scrolling)
For example chrome ... it seems like the CPU "runs" back ... or loads the page ... but not ... everything is loaded ... (after flawless oreo is this a disappointment.... )

Something like this happened on previous sony z3c ... and in one of the other updates was this repaired but ... i am afraid ... that this was the last big update ... (oreo had i think only security patches ... after many updates i did not see some significant changes...)

and the album app laggs when deleting photo

now I can hide navbar whenever without root

The old apk isn't supported up from 2014... Pro version will be cost still ~4€... Use System Ui tuner instead... you will have also a Tilt in the Statusbar

Can I use AAC codec for a Bluetooth device not included in the Qualcomm Whitelist? (airpods, wf 1000x, qcy t1....)

For other manufacturers, codecs are available. Sony is not possible. Qualcomm told the manufacturer to change the settings. Sony has not changed the settings. Did sony update this at this time?

Sony isn't only update the security patches. I remember early Oreo day was a nightmare for my XZ Premium. All bugs were fixed (except the Wifi bug which seems to be Oreo 8.0 problem) and my Phone run flawlessly only after May 2018 patches.
This make me think that Pie will only run flawlessly at least after March/April 2019 patches.

Having GPS issues since last few updates. Drove for over an hour the other day before the GPS got a fix (lucky I knew roughly where I was going). Using the GPS test app and requesting a clear data and up date sometimes helps but its still taking over 20 minutes to get a fix.

same here, bad issues with GPS, very long time to focus and locate position (on oreo it was almost instant with mobile data active)

one more issue i have, sometimes it starts to lag like crazy, it happened to me at least twice at 00:00 while having active game profile, the game i was playing became totally unplayable. tried to restart - the same, everything was running very sluggish, tried to reboot in safe mode - was working ok, and when i restarted in normal mode - again very very laggy. no idea what is happening with the device, i think i must return to oreo, really hate this new update

So, apparently, the problem with smart backlight control in charge that is keeping stopping is correlated to the smart action of the phone.. With deactivated smart function is not giving anymore problem..

Worse battery life, before it was 8-9 hours of screen on time with nougat and now with pie only 5-6 !!!

for me is battery life better than in oreo ... maybe because... i made a clean install and some aps i did not install anymore to the phone ... but no doubt now it holds for 2 days without problem ... but of course i charge every night, because battery is needed at work....

On Pie the Akku works (in depend of lightweight or heavier use) between 1 and 3 days on my side.
3 Days with 2h Display use.
But the most of power need Wear OS (16%) over the time.
Maybe it's make a big different, if you have enabled in the statusbar "reduce Data". Mobile Data and WLAN is on all time.

its in wifi settings, there is an option that is enabled by default there that says "turn to wifi automatically whenever there is a trusted wifi avaiable", as long as you keep that ticked, whenever you are around your wifi signal it will always re-enable.
