You should update to the newest build and see if that helps. It's Locus Pro only that crashes the webview? Sounds like an issue with Locus Pro maybe?
IIRC ABC uses Chrome as the default webview app. Updating Android Webview is not doing anything for you, unless you've switching to it manually in Dev Settings.

I just upgraded to the newest build for BullHead. Now I need to test and experience whether the setup still crashes on me.
It is mainly Locus Pro that crashes. I submitted logcats to these (competent!) guys, and they looked into it: they come to the conclusion it crashes inside of webview and that is beyond them.
I yes, I fully realize I need to tweak the webview setting in dev options. After testing I will report back here. Tnx for now !

@buffal0b1ll, thanks for the heads up!

I've been on XDA for a long time as well and I think it's the first time I've seen a single thread for several ROMs/devices. This is why I was curious about it.

Sorry for the OT!
A good example of where this all started: go to and scroll through page 10. It's all people helping others build Slim KitKat 4.4, learning and sharing knowledge and builds. Many of those are the same people still active in the thread today. It's pretty special.

Hello,
How to really turn off mobile data on nexus 5x while screen is off.
I tried tasker with auto tools and it's root add-on but it only disable the notification tile but nothing more.
Please help me with this as I have a full 4G+ (LTE) coverage where I live and it's eating the battery SO SO much.
Thanks in advance for your help.

@setiawanjimmy Is Wireguard still available with this new Beltz Rom including ElementalX kernel?
Cause this is kernel based isn’t it?
Thanks for this nice update of course!

It's not listed as a feature on ElementalX site or the XDA thread for Shamu oddly. But here's the commit https://github.com/flar2/shamu/commit/93b9ec0d628f2a012dd6d66d5d0f6a52af468b45

Beltz Shamu 8.1.0 - 180327

Changelogs :

An fyi, I dirty flashed just this newest build over the early March build and virtually every app was continuously crashing. I downloaded Gapps (via my PC as Chrome was crashing) and wiped cache and reflashed ROM and Gapps and everything works perfect now. Just in case anyone has a similar experience.

Sorry if it has already been asked here (at least I wasn't able to find it via the search functionality) but what does this mean to us (user of the Android Builders Collective ROMs like the ROM for N5x): https://www.xda-developers.com/google-blocks-gapps-uncertified-devices-custom-rom-whitelist/

Thx in advance

ABCrom users should be immune to the uncertified devices Gapps blockages, as long as the maintainers continue to keep the fingerprints in line with official google factory image's fingerprints. For devices that still get monthly security updates, e.g. angler and bullhead, these fingerprints are updated in the ABC source monthly. For devices that have reached google's end of life for updates, e.g. shamu, hammerhead, flo, the fingerprints in the source are set to match with the last official google factory image fingerprints for the device..

The fingerprint certification check isn't really any thing new. It's just more forward facing now if devices fail it (an attempt to makes users nag their rogue device manufacturers to certify their devices). If ABCrom hadn't been staying on top of these fingerprints all along the certification checks that have been in place for over a year, like safety net and Play Store "Certified" status would not have worked.

How do I apply system wide font ?

Substratum theme for fonts that I used on nougat isn't working anymore ( it don't install, others state incomplete OMS support in rom)

Thanks in advance

Easiest way is to use a flashable zip of your favorite font.

ABC rom Oreo build for Nexus 6P:

    ABC rom 8.0.x :D

Download latest release and read changelog for Angler: http://kantjer.com/

    Installation and kernel:

    - Get the latest bootloader, radio and vendor.img from 8.x factory images.
    - If you come from another rom do a factory reset and wipe system/caches. If you come from the previous build, a dirty flash should be enough.
    - After flashing the rom zip in twrp, flash gapps (Beans Gapps mini are recommended), then reboot and enjoy.
    - Recommended kernel: the built-in one or Flash Kernel by @nathanchance:
    http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p/development/kernel-ninja-kernel-v1-0-t3437247

PS: if you have problems, call A-team or clean flash.

Thanks to the SlimRom Team many users have started to create their own unofficial builds for personal use and for others to use, experience and enjoy with their respective unique setup. This thread will provide a compilation of a few SlimRom Unofficial Builds in one thread; in order to provide a quick glance of the various SlimRom updates and a forum to ask questions regarding builds or general question. If you are building some form or version which is based on SlimRom and you would like to be added pls just send me a pm.

    THE NEW

    CQAfZlm.png

For most of us, the love for custom ROMs and building had it's foundation in Slim.
    We love Slim. Period.
There is no amount of thanks we can extend to the Slim Team, not just for their work but for the open-hearted nature to help anyone.
If it were not for them, in all probability SBC would never have existed.
Shout out in the loudest voice to Kufi, dankoman, jubakuba, josue, Griffin amongst the others for everything over the years.

Change is the only Constant in life & we have reached a junction where it is time to spread the wings some more.
We understand the need for folks to learn & use other popular 'brands' of builds.
In our eyes, it would be disrespectful to the Slim team to have other ROMs posted in a section that was intended only for Slim.

This had been in the works for a few weeks now & Garry has been belting out some cool banners.
So everyone say hello to a newer and more mature - A B C
Slim Builders Collective is now Android Builders Collective.
And we have a new home.
We have moved one level in the forum, and now reside alongside Slim in the root of the Custom Roms forum.

The move was thought out, as we did not want to move where there would be tons of new folks jumping in and derailing the essence of this thread.
This was intended to & will always remain a place for people to learn building, cooking, having fun etc.
We thank all the senior guys here for maintaining the same culture that we started off with.
This will still remain the same. Everyone is welcome, but we do not want this to turn into the other gazillion mud slinging, disrespectful threads that XDA unfortunately has a lot of.

That being said, we still love Slim. And always will.

    Latest builds :

5.1.1.beta.0.12-UNOFFICIAL-20151112-14 (shamu, hammerhead, flounder, flo, hlte)

Please note that Multi-ROM is not supported, although it's in my shamu and hammerhead kernels ! If you run into issues do only report them if you can reproduce them without the use of Multi-ROM !

Also I recommend to use 5.1.x bootloader, radio and gapps, for flounder update to 5.1.x vendor partition as well.

I recommend using for all builds :

    Download Links :

    Nexus 6 / Shamu

    AndroidFileHost

My latest kernel : available on my forum (flash it over to change kernel settings like dt2w, cpu freqs, init.d supprt and many other things, no app needed)

    Nexus 5 / Hammerhead

    AndroidFileHost

My latest kernel : available on my forum (flash it over to change kernel settings like cpu freqs, init.d supprt and many other things, no app needed)

    Nexus 9 / Flounder

    Nexus 7-2013 / Flo

    Samsung Note 3 / hlte

NB: All builds are tested prior to upload and come with their respective stock kernel. Btw, I recommend to disable dt2w on Flo, it drains battery like hell in standby and is enabled by default in stock SlimLP kernel...

    SlimLP 5.0.2 builds (discontinued) :

    Latest builds :

    5.0.2.alpha.1.0-UNOFFICIAL-20150325 (shamu, hammerhead and flo)

I recommend using Chainfire's SuperSU for all builds.

    Download Links :

    Nexus 6 / Shamu

    Nexus 5 / Hammerhead

    Nexus 7-2013 / Flo

NB: All builds are tested prior to upload and come with their respective stock kernel. Btw, I recommend to disable dt2w on Flo, it drains battery like hell in standby and is enabled by default in stock SlimLP kernel...
