Have you tested it? I have tested it extensively on my AMOLED 5t and it made my battery worse, and I had to deal with less than ideal screen quality in the meantime.

I did with CarbonRom for almost 14 days. Of course if you care about fanciness you eont approbe of the screen quality but if you do care about your amoled panel which has been used for almost 3 years now you would definitely consider it. And there has been no impact with the battery mate, I think there is something wrong wuth yiur setup if thats the case.

Can't say anything about battery, but your other point is perfectly valid - why cripple such a gorgeous screen as 5T's , for example :)

Again I am talking about 6p... If other ppl port abc from 6p sith smart pixel, they can just remove it from repo before sync. Also theres a switch... If you dont like it then dont turn it on lol.

I am merely stating that its a good idea for a device of 3 years of age with an amoled panel. I at first think it was a ludicrous idea but if you do look at it from a "caring your 6p becausee you either dont have the money to buy a new one or just simply is in love with it" perspective, the smart pixel makes sense

abc for walleye -

https://xdaforums.com/pixel-2/development/rom-abc-rom-t3795772

walleye doesnt get much custom rom love so i created a thread, let me know if thats an issue and i will ask the mods to close the thread.

Thanks.
I always prefer that abc builds are shared within this thread, and not in specific discussions.

But it's not a diktat, as usual feel free to use my source like you want guys. Just be sure to give proper credits, not only to me but to this whole thread (because users suggestions have a big importance too). b:good:

Hey buddy is there any way to enable always on display on 6p running may build
I tried the always on enabler in substratum but no luck.. hope you'll reply soon
I never enabled it on Angler because it would kill the *crap* battery sooner, i thought no one liked it :D
Will unlock it for the next build so you can enable it in Display settings :good:

@ezio84 it seems that I have a weird bootup after flash of the latest build on angler. The screen lights up for 1 second and dies down repeatedly over and over and renders it unusable.. any thoughts?

Flashed itbtwice to confirm and both have the same results.. i guess its because of ambient display?

No such problem on my angler here. Booted normally. Did you clean flash?

@ezio84 is the always on display supposed to prevent phone from dozing?

Dirty flashed on mine, works mint as usual...make sure no security pattern or fingerprint is enabled and any subs overlay disabled & deleted before dirty flashing

Discovered the problem.. it was with a substratum overlay.. idk if it was a defective subs which I doubt since its regularly updated and had no problems with it before.. though with the exception of always on force enabled, that sub gives me bootloop so I guess that might be the prob

It's still a doze state so it doesn't drain like an awake system (also apps are kept in doze mode) but once you enable it, the display itself will drain more battery even if it's an amoled.

It's always good to disable substratum themes before flashing the ROM, then just rebuild them after the ROM boots correctly.
In this build there's a new lockscreen clock styles feature so your System UI overlay probably needed to be refreshed.

Hmmm, I left AOD on for 4 hours and I got zero deep sleep and 100% held awake. Lost about 25% battery, it this normal? I then turned it off and I got deep sleep after a few minutes. Could this just be a problem with my device? I know the display itself will drain more battery since pixels are lit up but I didn't expect the drain to be this high.

Common. I've never seen anyone get deep sleep with AOD. When not in use just flip your phone over face down and the display will turn off from the proximity sensor. See if it deep sleeps like that.

I decided to turn AOD off. I tried turning it on and covering the proximity sensor but the AOD was still on. I don't think it turns off from a covered proximity sensor.

ABC rom Oreo build for Nexus 6P:

    ABC rom 8.0.x :D

Download latest release and read changelog for Angler: http://kantjer.com/

    Installation and kernel:

    - Get the latest bootloader, radio and vendor.img from 8.x factory images.
    - If you come from another rom do a factory reset and wipe system/caches. If you come from the previous build, a dirty flash should be enough.
    - After flashing the rom zip in twrp, flash gapps (Beans Gapps mini are recommended), then reboot and enjoy.
    - Recommended kernel: the built-in one or Flash Kernel by @nathanchance:
    http://xdaforums.com/nexus-6p/development/kernel-ninja-kernel-v1-0-t3437247

PS: if you have problems, call A-team or clean flash.

Thanks to the SlimRom Team many users have started to create their own unofficial builds for personal use and for others to use, experience and enjoy with their respective unique setup. This thread will provide a compilation of a few SlimRom Unofficial Builds in one thread; in order to provide a quick glance of the various SlimRom updates and a forum to ask questions regarding builds or general question. If you are building some form or version which is based on SlimRom and you would like to be added pls just send me a pm.

    THE NEW

    CQAfZlm.png

For most of us, the love for custom ROMs and building had it's foundation in Slim.
    We love Slim. Period.
There is no amount of thanks we can extend to the Slim Team, not just for their work but for the open-hearted nature to help anyone.
If it were not for them, in all probability SBC would never have existed.
Shout out in the loudest voice to Kufi, dankoman, jubakuba, josue, Griffin amongst the others for everything over the years.

Change is the only Constant in life & we have reached a junction where it is time to spread the wings some more.
We understand the need for folks to learn & use other popular 'brands' of builds.
In our eyes, it would be disrespectful to the Slim team to have other ROMs posted in a section that was intended only for Slim.

This had been in the works for a few weeks now & Garry has been belting out some cool banners.
So everyone say hello to a newer and more mature - A B C
Slim Builders Collective is now Android Builders Collective.
And we have a new home.
We have moved one level in the forum, and now reside alongside Slim in the root of the Custom Roms forum.

The move was thought out, as we did not want to move where there would be tons of new folks jumping in and derailing the essence of this thread.
This was intended to & will always remain a place for people to learn building, cooking, having fun etc.
We thank all the senior guys here for maintaining the same culture that we started off with.
This will still remain the same. Everyone is welcome, but we do not want this to turn into the other gazillion mud slinging, disrespectful threads that XDA unfortunately has a lot of.

That being said, we still love Slim. And always will.

    Latest builds :

5.1.1.beta.0.12-UNOFFICIAL-20151112-14 (shamu, hammerhead, flounder, flo, hlte)

Please note that Multi-ROM is not supported, although it's in my shamu and hammerhead kernels ! If you run into issues do only report them if you can reproduce them without the use of Multi-ROM !

Also I recommend to use 5.1.x bootloader, radio and gapps, for flounder update to 5.1.x vendor partition as well.

I recommend using for all builds :

    Download Links :

    Nexus 6 / Shamu

    AndroidFileHost

My latest kernel : available on my forum (flash it over to change kernel settings like dt2w, cpu freqs, init.d supprt and many other things, no app needed)

    Nexus 5 / Hammerhead

    AndroidFileHost

My latest kernel : available on my forum (flash it over to change kernel settings like cpu freqs, init.d supprt and many other things, no app needed)

    Nexus 9 / Flounder

    Nexus 7-2013 / Flo

    Samsung Note 3 / hlte

NB: All builds are tested prior to upload and come with their respective stock kernel. Btw, I recommend to disable dt2w on Flo, it drains battery like hell in standby and is enabled by default in stock SlimLP kernel...

    SlimLP 5.0.2 builds (discontinued) :

    Latest builds :

    5.0.2.alpha.1.0-UNOFFICIAL-20150325 (shamu, hammerhead and flo)

I recommend using Chainfire's SuperSU for all builds.

    Download Links :

    Nexus 6 / Shamu

    Nexus 5 / Hammerhead

    Nexus 7-2013 / Flo

NB: All builds are tested prior to upload and come with their respective stock kernel. Btw, I recommend to disable dt2w on Flo, it drains battery like hell in standby and is enabled by default in stock SlimLP kernel...
