No mine is 02 but unlocked so am assuming should be OK. So there are no potential issues then?
I'm not so sure now the other chap flashed ok on Vodafone.

Usually the Odin zips posted in here are for a series of international unbranded cscs and if your csc isn't compatible it won't flash.

I would suggest further reading (for both you and myself lol)

Mine is working absolutely fine. Locked to Vodafone UK.
The firmware csc is AUT you're on XEF which is also on the list in both our screenshots........

:D
Great so which one did you download please as I am hoping to get this done when am home thanks.
.........now I'm sure it's not exactly carrier dependent but your csc needs to be on that list I'm sure

But you said and i quote "if you're locked to a network i wouldnt start flashing". I'm network locked to Vodafone and I've just proven that network locked phones can be flashed with no issues...

And as were getting super nitty gritty I backtracked above.

So it's not carrier dependent but won't flash if his active csc is not included in this exact firmware

Yours flashed ok as XEF, your active CSC, is on that list in our screenies

It doesnt matter whether his active CSC isnt included. Mine should be VOD - which isnt included. I flashed and i still have 4G+ service. I went to Gatwick Airport yesterday and 5G works too. So the information you're giving isnt correct bud.

Wrong bud! Mine was VOD BEFORE i flashed this. It's now XEF after flashing and it still works fine!

Isn't that how you would debrand a phone.
Always used to be. Ideally you will need the BTU firmware when available (unless you want to go back to VOD)

True story mate! :D
Interesting. This seems to set a precedent going forward in that case!

So basically you managed to "debrand" by flashing this firmware and go from VOD to XEF?

I'm kinda lucky not having to bother with locked handsets on three so I guess that's why my knowledge on this context needs updating

This is exactly the case on s8 and maybe so (not too sure though) but this seemed to have stopped when s10 was released. People having to use samkey to change csc

Good news for us in that case!

@speedyjay

This thread was the culprit to my line of thinking though it mentions using a sim from whatever region you're trying to change csc
