Android Pie libra by @Kenga

Ok I've just managed to get PIE working on mi4c. Here are the steps for those who cannnot unlock their phone officially or for those who just dont want to wait if Xiaomi allows them to unlock their Nougat 7 bootloader.
1. Unlock the bootloader the old way by using MiFlash application (phone in fastboot EDL mode) and flashing old version of miui dev china with unlocked bootloader libra_images_6.1.7_20151221.0000.11_5.1_cn_b09dac70a0.tgz (if you already have unlocked bootloader you may skip obviously)
2. Install with fastboot universal TWRP (works on both lollipop and nougat bootloader) twrp-20180106-1033.img
3. In TWRP (without rebooting!!!) install via adb sideload in batch firmware patch libra_miui_fw_patch_MI4c_V9.5.1.0.NXKCNFA.zip, install ROM RR-O-v6.1.0-20180627-libra-Unofficial.zip, Gapps (in this case PixelMod_Gapps_arm64_Oreo_libra_universal_27.06.18.zip) and finally Magisk-latest_version.zip
4. Restart to the system
5. After that I was able to copy twrp-3.2.1-0.img to sdcard and install this image to upgrade TWRP (This way you can upgrade also to TWRP+3.2.3-0_libra.img)
After this you have a locked bootloader but it is working with latest TWRP and you can install PIE ROMs and updates, but always remember to install Magisk !!!

Not sure yet if the PIE is worth to upgrade but the first impression is good. And last crDroidAndroid-v5.0 was updated 2 days ago by Vovan77!

Hello. I tried this rom but it was only giving me a few hours if that after a full charge. Like crdroidv5.0 linked in the above post the battery life is really poor 
pls fix
edit: unless my battery is shot, gone. I don't know I'm getting terrible battery life.
edit: I have ordered a replacement battery it looks like mine is gone. I will update here after fitting it into the phone.

Battery on crdroidv5.0 is absolutely amazing....the doze on PIE is doing great job. So far so good...did not test GPS yet though.Hello. I tried this rom but it was only giving me a few hours if that after a full charge. Like crdroidv5.0 linked in the above post the battery life is really poor

. Can I ask you...where did you get battery replacement for mi4c and are you gonna change it by yourself? Is that easy task? I plan to keep mi4c for some time but changing battery will be must at some point.Hello Yossarrian. Replacing the battery seems straight forward. I thought it would have been a lot harder but it isn't having seen videos on youtube and dismantling it myself just to look before purchase of battery replacement. Just note to be sure to unscrew to screws behind the tiny mi stickers too under the hard back case. I brought a replacement battery from aliexpress, there are also a few on ebay but I opted for aliexpress. The battery is a BM35.I see

you can flash port of MI A2 or MI A1 camera, but you need set the permissions in settings

Hello Yossarrian. I fitted the battery and as much as it has improved battery life it isn't holding charge for long enough which questions the replacement battery, phone or ROM? The battery is dated manufactured this year 2019 to my surprise I have got a brand new replacement battery and bar the phones serial number sticker it looks original. I'm not sure what to doI've just checked the videos...seems to be doable and straightforward. Let me know if the battery you bought is ok...I've read tehy usually worn out after 2-3 months
When l purchased the phone the battery held charge for a long period of time. This replacement is dropping 1 percent every couple of minutes in use but remains fine in sleep mode. It seems a little weak. I have charged it a few times now too so it should have woken up. Thx.
