It's for Lya-lgrp1 not lya-lgrp2[emoji52]

Does LGRP1 mean it's Chinese firmware? And if LGRP2 beta firmware appears on firmware finder, would we be able to install it without paying a service like FunkyHuawei or being a member of the beta project?

LOL, Huawei's community page for the beta has been updated with new info:
https://consumer.huawei.com/en/community/details/?topicId=6032

"So far, we had received several hundreds of applications; however, none of the applicants matches the developer email provided by Google Play Store. Please notice that your email for Beta app registration MUST BE the one displayed in your app's introduction in Google Play Store. Otherwise, we cannot identify you as a qualified applicant. For more details please read the instructions below."

This means that out of ALL the 1746 people who have requested to join the beta project, NONE are app developers. Not a single one. Epic fail from Huawei. They will probably cancel this app developer beta program and start a public one soon to save themselves from the embarrassment of nobody being eligible to actually receive the beta.

It's news from two days ago. Of course, the developers also applied, I know at least two of them, but they did not get the information that they were joined.

Did they join with a Huawei ID linked to the Gmail they use as a Play Store developer account? If so, even more fails from Huawei because they say in that community post that they checked every applicant but none are Play Store developers.

They say several hundreds, I guess a lot of developers have applied after that, but I still have not heard that they accepted anyone and started a rollout.

I am a registered (and paying) developer with the same email for both Huawei ID and Google Play Store developer account. I haven't published any app yet though but I am build mobile apps for both Android and iOS. I paid the Play Store dev license the same day as I enrolled into the program. I registered around position 660/6000 in the beta project. Will be interesting to see how this plays out. I'd be happy to find contact info for the beta program if anyone has it.

As Huawei stated, to join this project, applicants should meet both the following conditions:

1. Released one or more apps on the Google Play Store.

2. Use a Huawei Mate 20 Pro mobile phone, with a HUAWEI ID registered by the Google Play Developer account’s email. This email will be used later to log in to the Beta app. (Note: The email address will be verified by HUAWEI official team. The developer will be qualified and receive the OS test version after successfully verified.)

Contact for questions about the recruitment or about the beta version: send an e-mail to [email protected]

I wonder if this will always be devs only or if they will widen it as the betas progress?

This is the answer I received from the administrator on the global community site:

This version is opened up for developers only because we need helps from app developers to see if EMUI based on Android Q is stable and compatible with apps. The user beta will be opened later. Thanks for your support!

You're saying no more Huawei since you can't join a developer only beta period? Even though public beta and regular release will come? Pathetic dude.

I'm on beta, so, trust me, it can't be used as a daily driver, there are so many bugs in it.
