I wasn't able to restore the stock boot image with Magisk so I flashed the entire update (removing -W). Then patched the boot.img in Magisk, flashed that in bootloader and now I'm on 10 with root. No issues to report.

yep that is no face unlock in smart lock in Android 10 updated from beta version,those who updated from Pie fonud that their Pixels still have face unlock in smart lock.I am considering to reroll to Pie and OTA to 10,maybe it can remind face unlock.

I cleanly installed Pie, then updated to 10. No face unlock.

I went from beta to final Q and my Android pay thinks I'm rooted ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ... I feel like I have to start from a fresh install. or from P final to Q final.

Quite probably because it needs an update to recognize 10 as an officially supported OS. Check for updates in play store, Google pushed a ton out yesterday.

I was on the latest monthly security update of P the whole time and just got the OTA update a few hours ago, the update seems to be stable and everything's working.
The phone seems a bit slower (maybe a clean flash is due after all?). Ambient display, one of my favorite features in any phones that I've ever owned, is all but changed now and the screen now fully wakes up on dt2w or lifting unless you enable always on display, which consumes your precious battery even more, or receive a notification.
The new dark mode should have a schedule option just like the night light feature. White in the mornings, and black in the evenings, that's how I'd like it! I also couldn't find any theming options for changing the shades and colors, I suppose Google's going to make this a "thing" for the new pixels, duhhhh!
I didn't notice any changes with the Pixel Launcher! Missed anything?
I'm liking the new gestures, way better than the previous half-cooked system and works better with the launcher.
Btw, face unlock is really gone? That's strange.
But 10 is here after all, hurray I guess

Dark mode should have a scheduler. I'd agree with that being useful for some folks. For me I always want it on, but that is me.

Color options are in Developer Options - as are a lot of other things that you might want to explore.

Updated from Pie, face unlock is gone. But I read it is broken and you can somehow activate it in developer settings as a workaround.

Getting official Q seems like a joke. Half of the features are missing. Stuff like nav gestures and dark mode are half baked. What the hell is Google doing

So, can you name the half of the features that were removed? I mean, personally, I'd rather have a face unlock that is secure, versus the one from Apple that can be fooled with a 3D printed mask. Nav gestures are working just as well as they were in Beta 5 and 6. Dark mode (with dev ops setting of force) works great, except the 2 apps that Google excluded in Beta 5.

A better question is: have you made bug reports of these issues so we can all upvote them and get Google's attention to fix the issues?

Wait, wtf? I've downloaded Fdroid and cannot install it? Neither XDA Labs?

This is not cool. I'm gonna have to find a way to get my non-Google play store apps installed pronto.

OK, so for whatever reason trying to use the system to DL and install didn't work - but by enabling unknown .APKs for both Chrome and SolidExplorer, I was finally able to get them installed.

Yes John, to answer your question yes. I've made suggestions and bug reports of whatever i could find.

3) Half backed dark mode! I mean i love it but i think a company like Google should release dark mode with full compatibility of it's apps at least!
4) Accessing side menu in the app is still a pain. Sorry but whatever they tried in beta 6 isn't working.

I know they are holding off few features for pixel 4 launch but that is not an excuse. They should've rather released it with pixel 4 with full features rather than this update!

I was on stock 9, rooted with Magisk.
Sideloaded 10.0.0 (QP1A.190711.020, Sep 2019) OTA zip and everything went smooth. Boot animation was white until I unchecked and re-checked dark mode. Rebooted and voila, black animation.
I got root with magisk canary 19.4 through TWRP.
I had trouble with Adaway but corrected it by enabling systemless root in Magisk.
My only problem now is trying to uninstall system apps via titanium backup, gives me
"failed to locate the apk file"
any clues?

While I was downloading the factory image, the OTA popped up to install, so I just took it on my P2XL and it is .19, no SIM active in that phone right now. (shrug)

How did you fix it? I'm having the same issue.

I think I'm realizing now that I'm the only one on the planet having an issue with lock/unlock sounds not working, and the sound when I plug in my phone is different since updating.

Came from beta 6, updated to official 10, noticed the issues. Installed 10 clean with fastboot, didn't restore anything, still had the issues. Factory reset from System>Reset options>Factory data reset, didn't restore anything, still have the issues. What the hell else can I try?

Fix what? You mean .20 instead of .19? I need to get my Linux machine up, right now I’m on a laptop without ADB. Then I’ll sideload .20.

I took the SIM out intentionally to use in another phone. The P2XL is not my EDC right now, thanks to my need for medical apps that Google does not support.

Uh, revert to build .19 then?

Searched again for that and found out that this method worked for beta 6. But face unlock was removed completely from final release.

Hi all
I'm having trouble getting a clean install done it won't wipe my phone
Sometimes my phone freezes for no reason at all.
I was on beta 6 and tried to just install the full rom
Bootloop city
Corrupt is errors etc
I reflashed with platform tools
Installed TWRP
And now I'm rooted
I downloaded full rom on my phone, if I wipe in TWRP can I flash full factory image that way?

Can anyone tell me if there is a new radio with the official 10 release on the Pixel 2XL? Specifically, not the same radio that was packaged with q beta 5 or 6. Had network connectivity issues on both betas, hoping for an updated radio in the final. Thanks in advance.

That's exactly what I ended up doing, took a while but it was worth it!
