Estoy intentando instalar android tv x86 en mi Compaq Presario SR1717CL
I'm afraid your device is so old that it can hardly work on it anything newer than Android 4.4 x86! I recommend you stay on it. Or, the last option. This is a Remix OS Alpha 2016 build on Android 6 (I have Pentium T2300 and slightly older hardware from 2006-2007). I can make a ATV6 assembly for old iron on its basis, if there is a need for it.

MOD by tok78 (young modder)
Android TV for older computers.
1. Android 7 x86 (+TV MOD)
2. Android 8 TV x86 (+Google fix)
3. Android 9 TV x86 (+Google fix)
(download AVT7/9 from mega.nz)

Builds based on ATV8/9 from TOSantoni (bought)
"Google fix" reboot when entering a login/pass
"TV MOD" UI from Android TV and voice search

Tested ATV7 on Lenovo S10-3 (Atom N450)
And Asus Eee PC 1015PED (Atom N455)
Athlon 64 x2 5600 + Radeon 2600 on ATV9

YouTube (app) is broken on the ATV7
Replaced YouTube with SmartTubeNext
(or you can install YouTube ReVanced)
YouTube (app) on ATV8/9 works great

4. Android 9 TV x86 (Kernel 5.10.32 | xanmod1)
Root works, Wifi6 AX200 is great, Ryzen too.

Do you need ATV6 for Pentium T2300 and older?
Based on Remix OS Alpha (Android 6) 2016 build
If there are questions, Write to Me / Bye - Bye :)
I installed Android 9 TV x86 (Kernel 5.10.32 | xanmod1) but got an error turning up and down the volume on my laptop.

Please guide to fix.

Thanks very much.

Settings - > Audio - > Audio output (HDMI default) You need to select Speakers
Or do it through SoundAbout app (but I like AlsaMixer on Phoenix OS more)

In case of failure, install a simple ATV9 (it is better friends with old laptops). I'm fine with ATV7. If you do not need HDMI, you can download Prime OS (for games, Internet, YouTube). The UI menu will be like in Windows, control the mouse + keyboard.

Apps that work on my Device:

Prime Video (no tablet version - the version from the playstore in version 5.5.12-armv7a)
Netflix (from the First post)
myvideo.ge (georgian TV)
OpenVPN for Android with autostart after the boot
Joyn (german tv)
TuneIN
waipu TV
Google Chrome up to Version 88.0.4324.181 possible

all standard Apps

Google Assitent works fine!

video preview

the Black Screen in Prime is the DRM there i watching short a Trailer with the standard playstore version

Semiotik, how did you get to successfully play Netflix and Amazon?? I'm running a Gen8 I3 intel, 8GB ddr4 with SSD. I followed every thing on this post and ATV works flawlessly, I can watch youtube, tivimate, etc. but Netflix and APrime just won't open no matter what I try. Stuck at L3.

Thank you!

i had the same issue, i think it soved by disabling the Codec ffmpeg on screen sttings, if this not work, shut down and in the boot menu pick Debug video, i think is at the end of the list or something, it will start to make testings and stuff, when its done, just type: exit, and it will boot to android TV. Hope this helps

Hello guys. I have a few questions about Android TV x86. I installed the OS to my old laptop and after applying some fixes everything turned fine. But I still have problems.
1- When I try to "Sleep" the OS, it is soft-rebooting itself and suddenly disables the Wi-Fi settings. So It cannot sleep, and after that Wi-Fi is not being enabled without reboot the system. How can I fix this? I want to sleep my system so i can wake it faster when i want to watch anything again.

2- My laptop doesn't have a built-in bluetooth card. So i bought a Bluetooth dongle that does not have a name or brand. I just know the dongle's hardware name is "CSR8510" and i can see the "V5.0" label on the dongle. And I can't enable this bluetooth dongle. How can I enable the bluetooth dongle? I want to connect my bluetooth headphones to my Android TV/Laptop.

Please help me if you can. Thank you so much.

This is simply amazing. I managed to successfully install it and run Android TV successfully.
1 issue I have is that 1080p 60fps video lags so much on YouTube. Normal 1080p works flawlessly. 1080p is the maximum resolution I can get for videos on Youtube. Any video I have downloaded that is above 1080p lags alot. Is there any fix or is that a current limitation we have?

Even a live cd doesn't work? Remix OS, ATV7 and Prime OS Classic tried?
Formatted and redid it with Rufus and it worked.

Now I can't seem to add the device to my Google Home. Nor does it appear on my Google TV app to control with the remote app.

Looks like the Android TV remote Service is out of date and unable to update. This won't work with the new remote found in the Google TV and Google Home apps. It will work with the Android TV Remote App (found on APK mirror).

Unfortunately still no way to add this to Google Home, which truly sucks as it's the center of automation in my house.

it does not fill the whole display

also sry for my bad english
Try selecting Debug Video on boot options. And if that works you should change the options on boot menu to make it permanent. I had to enter in a Linux live cd, ( Fossapuppy in my case) and change the txt file of the GRUB, maybe later i could post some images with the text of the commands (but before you do anything try selecting the proper resolution i guess 1080p on Video options).

DIYTV ------- Guide made by LolitoPicolito.
Note1: I am NOT responsible of your device’s health. If something got broken on the install, try to ask here in the community.
    Note2: Netflix was patched. EDIT
Note3: I didn't develop the iso, it was provided by this youtuber here.(
    )
    I just made the guide.

    -----------------------------------------------------------
    Links
Android TV X86 Pie: Refreshed Download
Rufus: Rufus - The Official Website (Download, New Releases)
or BalenaEtcher: balenaEtcher - Flash OS images to SD cards & USB drives
    -----------------------------------------------------------

Fix Home: Might be related to HW Acceleration, either way just disable automatic updates.

    Known Bugs:
    Chromecast built-in doesn't work.
Home may break if updated (See Fix Home).
USB Debugging doesn’t work (wireless adb).

    What Works:
    Netflix ATV(NO LONGER WORKS.)
    Youtube
Prime Video (must be tablet version.)
    Play Store
    Google Assistant
    Games
    Spotify
    WiFi
    Bluetooth
    USB
HDMI/VGA Output (Only on “Laptop Mode” for notebooks that needs to display out an external monitor)
    SD Card
    Game Controller (USB and BT)

    HowTo:
    1. Flash the ISO File with Rufus or BalenaEtcher on a USB(4GB Min.).
    2. When its done take the USB and put it on the PC.
    3. When it boots, press ESC to display your Boot Selector.
    4. Select your USB
    5. When it displays a blue screen go on Installation, or if you want to see if your PC works with this OS, go select Android TV (First Option).
    6. Select your partition / dedicated disk where you want to install the OS in. (DISCLAIMER!! Be sure to select the correct partition.)

    7. IMPORTANT! Select to ext4 for file system, or it will not boot / work!
    8. Yes to install EFI GRUB2.
    9. Reboot.
    10. Press again ESC Untill it shows up the Boot selection and select Android TV.
    11. Select the first option if you are from desktop, otherwise if you want your notebook to display ATV on a external screen just select the Android TV (Laptop Mode) and close your laptop screen. In a few seconds it should appear.
    12. Follow the setup. If you loop in the Google login screen, boot into TWRP and factory reset. (If this doesn't work, refer to the community posts)
    13. IMPORTANT!!! Apply the Home Fix.
    14. If video reproduction is slow, go on settings, device preferences, display, 3D , and select force hardware acceleration.

Credits to: Me, Lolito (Designed the guide.) and the ISO provider.

P.S. Email support has been retreated. I have now edited this guide to make it more readable (and refreshed the download link). Also, some things may be inaccurate since I've lost my testing and main machine a long time ago.
