I just learned the first version of android was called Astro. I always thought that it was simply android or alpha. After that was beta, but really it was called bender.

Could you imagine if android was named after cartoon characters.

Astro (jetsons)
Bender (futurama)
Catdog
Daria
Eyeore (whinnie the pooh)
Freddy (Scooby Doo)
Goku (Dragon Ball Z)
Heathcliff
Inspector Gadget
Johnny Quest
Krang (TMNT)
Lil (Rugrats)
Marge (Simpsons)
Naruto
Phil (Rugrats)
Quagmire (Family Guy)
Rocko
Sylvester
Topcat
Underdog
Veronica (Archie)
Wilma (Flintstones)
Xavier (X-Men
Yogi
Zuko (Avatar the Last Airbender

The OP is simply theorizing what might have been based on the newfound knowledge that the initial versions were Astro and Bender. Not too difficult to figure out.

yeah forgot about the eclair, but my point was that the names mentioned in the OP completely strange and they make no sense.
