wait wut?
i dont think that wpinternals would be wrong about the samsung chip in the info...
moreover ive only seen hynix and samsung in these lumias, i dont think that there is any other vendor out there that makes the chips for THESE SPECIFIC models... ive seen toshiba in the higher 1520 models.
most rare ones are the micron chips...ive only seen 1 lumia that had that chip.
also, another thing i've seen is the problems with the drivers... not having proper drivers also results in failures, so have a check on that too
I'm just rotting the dev warnings about this chip vendor for emmc, and porting android on them. There must be thread about this precise issue, I didn't follow them. Fell free to look for them.

Anyways dev recommand not to go on with installation of your emmc is from Samsung, that is clear for them. But you can always try, but do know that you can hard brick your phone

"Do not install this ROM on devices with a Samsung eMMC (flash memory chip)! These chips are known for getting either partially or fully write protected when you do this kind of stuff. While you still *can*, there's an high chance the eMMC will go write protected either during the process or even after. If you still chose to take the risk and your device is dead, don't blame it on us, this warning here and the one on the video are there for a reason!"

Audio over headphones works for me. Lineageos 13, lumia 620 rm846. Accelerometer and camera don't work because the lack of drivers or some bad config?

Very nice work! Thanks!

Nice thread, good to see android being ported to EOL windows phones, saves phones from trash.
Though I don't have a Lumia, how do you guys identify the type of EMMC on the chip? By dissecting the phone to it's motherboard and looking at the words on the EMMC?

Windows Phone Internals tells you the type of EMMC your phone has

Very useful thread . I've tried to install Android on an old Lumia 620 . Things went smoothly .... up to running uefi2lk . A couple of messages showed up on the screen and then things stopped and the corresponding window closed on my PC . Since then good old Lumia looks like dead ; the only positive sign is that it vibrates when I release power button after having pressed Vol - and Power buttons for 15 sec.
I've tried to "rerun" uefi2lk without sucess . Any hope or should I just throw Lumia 620 in the trash ?
Thks in advance

Try This:

The phone is probably in fastboot mode, which is normal. Connect the phone to the pc and execute this command to go to TWRP: fastboot oem reboot-recovery
(or just remove and reinsert the battery, and press the volume up and power keys for about 10 seconds)

Thks for answering . Unfortunately neither works . The cmd line is not an option as my device, while connected, is never recognized by my PC thus making impossible to send cmd lines ...

try running uefi2lk from command prompt. If necessary try detecting the phone through windows phone internals utility and again rerun uefi2lk.If it vibrates then it is alive. If the EMMC is of samsung then it may give some error otherwise load TWRP as soon as it boots when unrooted

Thks for replying.
The problem is that my Lumia 620 isn't detected by my PC . If I go to device manager I see a Android device whose driver isn't installed .... I guess this is the first thing to solve . I have noy idea how to overcome this ....

In that case check the usb driver for lumia620 and install appropriately from control panel ->devices.My lumia720 was updated successfully to android and working great .check for lumia620 specific information on usb driver.

Thks for your time. I may look stupid but how do I find the appropriate driver ? I've tried Nokia PC Suite but here again the phone is not recognized althought it's connected with a cable to the PC.
I've no idea regarding where to find the appropriate driver ....

what I can say from here is you need to search for Android device driver.comes along with adb(bridge) many times.install windows device recovery tool.many things to try like command line ' thor' for detecting the mobile if not detected by wdrt.

I installed Lineage OS 14.1 on Lumia 520 RM-914, but during flashing Lineage i got errors about patching.
Everything works fine: wi-fi, bluetooth except SIM Cellular data (NO SERVICE) and RADIO.
How can i enable CELLULAR SIM CARD?

    Android4Lumia - Android for Lumia 52x, 620 and 720
Your warranty is now void. We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please, do some research if you have any concerns about the features included in these ROMs before flashing anything. YOU are choosing to make these modifications on your own, and if you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you.

Unofficial LineageOS 13/14.1 builds for Lumia 52x, 620, and 720

Only the Lumia 520, 521, 525, 526, 620, 720, and 720T are supported for now. There are plans to support other Qualcomm Snapdragon S4-based Lumias as well, though we cannot certainly promise anything.

Do not install this ROM on devices with a Samsung eMMC (flash memory chip)! These chips are known for getting either partially or fully write protected when you do this kind of stuff. While you still *can*, there's an high chance the eMMC will go write protected either during the process or even after. If you still chose to take the risk and your device is dead, don't blame it on us, this warning here and the one on the video are there for a reason!

OneDrive Link (For YouTube tutorial): https://1drv.ms/f/s!Atz2q1RD1cGL7nNWgZnXNjNiyu9f

To install Android on your Lumia, follow this video guide by sjrmac: https://youtu.be/_OW88UTTDug
Be sure to carefully follow all of the instructions or you may/will brick your device.

    What works and what doesn't:
    Wi-Fi works
    Bluetooth works
RIL (SIM Card, Calls, Messages, Data etc.) doesn't work yet
    Accelerometer (Rotation) doesn't work yet
Proximity and Light sensors don't work for me
Audio over headphone jack does not work for me
    Camera does not work yet
Only official digitizer is supported. If you have an unofficial digitizer, you can try this kernel by TBM 13
For some people SD Cards don't work

You can install GApps, but keep in mind this will make your device very slow. Installing GApps is only recommended on Lumia 525 and 526, since these have 1 GB of RAM.

Do not install this software on your daily devices, because it is not 100% stable at the moment. Perhaps, depending on the device, there is a lot of lag and there are some important things that do not work.

To go back to Windows Phone, follow this guide, which you can also find in the website.

If you have not made a backup, you cannot go back to Windows Phone because every device is unique. Also, DO NOT share your backup with anyone, because by doing so you're giving private data such as IMEI away!

thanks, It worked. How do I use swap ram?( My phone only have 348Mb of Total RAM/326Mb in use). I used TBM13 kernel.

SWAP RAM is already enabled by default. You don't need to do anything.

    Hi

My 520 has Samsung EMMC chip, so it's risky to install.

    Did anyone tried yet here?
No. It is incompatible with Samsung EMMC according to my recent research. I might be wrong though.
