You've rebooted to verify that it doesn't work?

You are sure that the framework-res.apk file is specific for Andromeda3?

The filename of the file containing the circle battery mod should be named exactly "framework-res.apk" (without the quotes). First go to the system/framework folder in root explorer and click the Mount R/W button at the top of the screen. Then go to wherever on your sd card you have the modified framework-res.apk file, long press on the file and select Copy from the popup menu, then navigate to the system/framework folder and press the Paste button on the bottom of the screen. Select yes to the message: Warning framework-res.apk already exists. Do you want to overwrite it? Reboot. Joy.

This is the theme I use. It looks great. Not just a batt mod, but a whole redisign of the ui. Flashable through cwm. Easy peasy.

Im very new to the cappy, and I was wondering about overclocking. On my aria overclocking was my bestfriend, and I was wondering if its possible or even necessary to overclock Captivate running Andromeda 3?

Overclocking is never good for stability. Btw... we have the same processor as the iPhone4, but ours runs an extra 25% faster.

That's questionable... Also, why are they calling it one-click?

I would not try it.. The guy does not even understand what a one-click application is. That method requires 2 separate flashes, with 3 clicks, a reboot, a double click, and 3 more clicks.. Just saying... It does not appear to be a reliable source.

If you want gingerbread, go to samfirmware.com and get the official package.

Isn't odins full name is odin-one-click? Maybe that was what they were saying? But I guess the main question would be if the kernel would cause problems with the rom? I'm not a dev by any means, I'm just guessing really.

no. odin is called odin
there is a package called odin-one-click that is literally ONE click to flash back to stock firmware.

i have been questioning the motive of these guys that are putting out '1 clicks' lately....

No like he says... Odin3 1.81..... That's Odin Protocol 3, revision 1.81... 1.81 is designed for i9000 phones, not i897. Odin3 1.7 is for our phone.

Odin3 one-click is a 300ish megabyte single windows executable deployment environment and container for a firmware. A 1click app has a single button that does everything..... for example, im working on Heimdall one-click. Http://heimdall-one-click.googlecode.com

Hey guys,

I just flashed Andromeda3/UrsaMinor four days ago and I'm just kind of wondering about my battery life -- it hasn't been nearly as good as it was prior to flashing (even after removing a widgets and turning off auto-sync, which I never used to do). This was my first flash ever, so I'm wondering if that's the reason or what. I did a lot of reading and I know everyone says battery life is going to be different for everyone and it depends on whether or not you flashed it with a full battery (which I think I did). I even did that bump charge cycle (wiping batterystats) to attempt to recalibrate it after I flashed.

But most people have been saying A3 has given them the best battery life they've ever had. So I was wondering if it's something I should be worrying about yet, or if I should wait it out for another week. Or if I should attempt to start over and reflash and make sure I do it with a full battery.

Even just today the phone charged to 100% and as soon as I unplugged it the percentage dropped to 96%.

Any thoughts?

yes you can install any keyboard in this ROM. We have 4 keyboards. Samsung, MTM WP7, Swype and Gingerbread keyboard.
Also, I saw this yesterday and then noticed I only have the Samsung, MTM WP7, and Swype keyboards. Is there a reason I don't have the GB keyboard, and would you happen to have the APK for that?

EDIT: NVM, figured it out.

This Odin you speak of...

I've been lurking in the Captivate forums for two weeks, reading all I could. I am ready to move ahead with flashing Andromeda3, but I'm getting frustrated.

Where is Odin available?

I'm not too keen on Googling it up from some random site, I want one that is known and tested. I'm not a noob to ROMs, but I am when it comes to the Captivate. Lots of noobs being slapped and told to go get a one-click Odin, but that is not what I'm after. I'd use Heimdall, but I'm not familiar enough with the Captivate to feel comfy with it.
