The first method - It will take a few tries to get the timing just right so be patient:
•Unplug your Device
•Pull out the SIM, External SD Card, and Battery
•Plug in the mini-USB Cable back into your phone.
•While holding down BOTH Up/Down Volume Buttons re-insert the battery.
If you get the "grey battery charging" screen. Then you will need to try and re-attempt it as it didn't work. You should get the download screen and be ready to go back to stock.

this method worked, however now when i try to install URSA Minor the installation / setup process does not continue in Odin3 1.7. It just hangs there and does nothing i have COM5 when i connect the device so the program recognizes the phone. I tried several attempts to install URSA Minor and it doesn't seem to be continuing with the setup while in download mode (with the SIM / SD card removed) which is the only way i can get it to "download mode". It seems the phone is blocking or unable to receive the information being sent to the device even tho it recognizes it.

i am following the video steps exactly.

1) root via SuperOne Click ( stock 2.2. Froyo )
2)Installed OCFL / EXT 2 Lag fix 2.2
3)Back-up using titanium backup
4)Run Odin3 1.7 and load PDA tar file to load the kernal.
(Stuck on download mode nothing happens after several attempts in Odin3 1.7)
rebooted the phone with SIM / SD card back to stock ( rooted 2.2 Froyo )

Some of the apps on Andromeda3 are different versions then the ones you used to have. Do not restore all apps or system apps. Try a wipe, then restore "missing apps + data"
I'm not having issues with the Andromeda apps, it is pretty random. Winamp, soundhound, Angry birds, Stupid Zombies, Swiftkey X. Reinstalling has fixed some of them, but I'd prefer to avoid having to do it to all of them. Especially when I get the storage error trying to reinstall them. When you say wipe, how far do you mean? Wipe apps with titanium, or odin 1-click and reflash?

Thanks again,

Drew

OK i've spent hours trying to do this. I have rooted, i can get my phone into download mode. The next step is to use Odin3 1.7 (which i have) and click the PDA button and the select the Ursa Minor flash. I cannot find any ursa minor files when i click the PDA button. What am I doing wrong?

I have downloaded Ursa Minor from the team komin github, i also downloaded the ursa minor.tar.gz from the github. I extracted the files and all that. Please help me i'm sure it's something easy.

when you click on PDA, you need to point it to the TAR file....not the zImage

Thanks Adam i've watched your video several times. Now i get an error popup that says "Odin3 Communicator Has Stopped Working" and it closes. I've retried it several times even switched USB ports on my laptop. It happens as soon as Odin does file analysis. I'm apparently not very good at this.

Reinstall Samsung drivers or use a new usb cable

I was able to flash without any issues due to the great thread at the beginning. I have done roms before, but this was my first android. That aside...

Ursa Minor 2 - If I install this using CWM (right?), will I have to reinstall Andromeda? My sound on the headset, an old Apple headphone/mic, is horrible in my truck. Maybe cause it's a loud diesel?

Does Andromeda support a screen capture by default/how to use it and if not, what should I get?

Kudos to Team Komin, this ROM is very sweet!

I keep seeing ADB, but I have not run across anything explaining this program or feature and how to use it.

If you were to flash a kernel then reflash the Rom, you would wind up with the old kernel, because the Rom flash includes the old kernel. Just flash the new kernel in cwm, and that's it.

As for adb, try using Google. You would be surprised ay what you would find.

I just flashed this rom. I had been running another for a while and just wanted a change. So far this is a fast stable rom. my question...is there a way to change the home apps(apps on the bottom of the screen) with out changing to a different launcher?
