Someone to tell me, what is your choice? Phoenix or Remix?
I didn't even bother trying Remix... Cz it will never be updated to the latest android version and the remaining bugs will stick around for ever...

I currently have Phoenix OS installed on my Spectre x360 and i am mostly happy with it (it has some cool features like a fully featured file manager, awesome key mapping app, app cloning feature, and it enables one click to open once you use the touchscreen to make the navigation easier, and OTA updates). But it has some annoying bugs (like restarting if i close the lid or make it "sleep" and some crashing).

I just downloaded Bliss Rom and will try it out tomorrow cz i think it will be more touch friendly since i mostly use my convertible in tablet mode, and more stable than Phoenix OS... I'll let you know what i think once use it for a while!

Sent from my SM-G935F using XDA Labs

I would say we do not need another project - we need decent Android for x86. For me, none of the projects have achieved that so far, and none have a reliable list of supported hardware. I do not want to spend an hour installing just to find out that it does not work, and that it broke my boot loader. Remix is especially bad in that respect, but not unique. (A working forum would be a good start.)

Use it everyday hours a day for the last 3 years. Phoenix is just not as kid-friendly. I have a cheap 24inch all-in-one PC and my 1year old now almost 4 has been using it for youtube kids the entire time every day for about 1-2 hours or more a day. Let me tell you my kids are very intelligent for their age. All thanks to youtube kids and remix OS. So i would highly recommend this set up too new parents.

edit: Phoenix os has resizeable windows and when you launch an app its small and needs to be sized also the app says in the background if they open a game or something. HUGE unplayable differences for a 3-year-old. even with years of experience on remix os. Pheonix is just not even close to the level a toddler can use it, but remix very much is.

Remix OS is still great, but it still has a major bug that I still can't solve, when trying to call someone on Messenger, it crashes and when trying to record voice, the app crashes too.

I got Openthos from Baidu, it is a .img file about 1.4 GB. I want to test it on VirtualBox but do not know how to handle img in Vbox. Could any one help? Thank you!

SLo
How did you even get access to Baidu?
Well, when I go to any Baidu download link, it gives me 404 error even if I'm logged in, why?

Here:

http://pan.baidu.com/s/1kVauJ5t
access code: y48g

If u know Chinese goto: http://www.linux-ren.org/thread/90235.html or using Google Translate for English.

Good luck!

Well, Baidu still gives me the 404 error.
But there is another link (Tuna Tsingua University).
I downloaded and installed already.
But I notice that there's a folder called "Openthos_android8.0"
And it has a zip inside, when trying to install the update, it says that this is not a valid update.
There's a chinese README file, but Google Translate translates it weirdly, can you explain this guide at a little bit better method?

Did you mean this site: https://mirrors.tuna.tsinghua.edu.cn/openthos/Release/openthos_android8.0/ ?
The README file only an instruction for using PC to download TWRP and flashing the zip file with TWRP and nothing special.

Regards!

Well, I think I can't even access the recovery.
So can you please give me accurate instructions about installing and booting to recovery?
Thanks in advance!
But can OpenThos run Linux apps as said or not?
If so, then how can I run Wine on OpenThos?

Can anyone post method for installation of openthos?
I tried going to f2 menu and go to manual installation and formatted drive with ext4, when doing that it says installing and then it comes back to partition menu, i tried booting but there is no boot menu or grub menu for booting into openthos, i am using UEFI.
