I let the update proceed last night and immediately after it rebooted my recent apps an back button wouldn't work. Verizon had me do their repair software on it, still not working. Now I am having to go to the Verizon store after work to have them verify there is no damage on the phone to avoid a 300.00 fee to get a replacement phone for something they and/or Samsung jacked up via their update. I'm kind of pissed about it too because it is probably going to be a refurbished phone and I didn't get this phone just a few weeks ago to have to swap it for a refurb. I paid full retail for a new phone. I'm trying to decide how much of a stink I'm going to make about it.

Did you try a factory reset?

No, just the repair software. I'm doing the factory reset from recovery right now.

Factor reset from recovery didn't help either.
If a best buy is near by try having their samsung experience his relish you're software. Sounds like something in the update didn't apply right.

next time, export your disabled packages, enable all of them, restart and try to update again. the system update check needs all apps enabled to work.
I use both and didn't have to enable anything. I have about 20 apps disabled with Package Disabler and kept them disabled through the whole process, and updated just fine. I doubt his problem has anything to do with this, unless he had an app disabled that specifically was needed for the update. Greenify has no effect on updates either that I'm aware of.

I re-enabled all the apps I had disabled, and removed Greenify.

The update then worked through Samsung Smart Switch. (Which is how you need to do it if you don't have a Verizon sim.)

Didn't test if Greenify was required or not.

has anyone had any display issues after applying this update? I've got smeared text everywhere and it started right after applying the update. I've done a factory reset but it's still happening.
