So here's what I did after already getting root via the Chinese app:

1 downloaded superuser from play store.
2 updated binaries (grant super user access via the Chinese superuser)
3 installed BMM, grant superuser still using Chinese superuser.
4 deleted Chinese apk
5 reboot and did cache wipe

After this superuser still is asking to update binary and still fails. Any ideas? Although I already have BMM, so it's cool, but I'd really like a properly rooted stock ROM though.

ok
u can try just one more time with this.

1 downloaded superuser from play store.
2 updated binaries (this is the 1st time, grant super user access via the Chinese superuser)
3 deleted Chinese apk and dont reboot.
4 updated superuser( download from the play store) binaries again. (this is the 2rd time and it will be success, grant super user access via the Chinese superuser, if u havent reboot the chinese root is still available)
5 reboot, you will find the superuser( download from the play store) will take over the root.

am also loving the stock rom,, remain on AU version..with some scripts. the battery keeps longer and smartactions can keeps my phone running 2days.

Probably it is because I am not english native I cannot understand this part ( and I am not able to root...):

Just wait and dont reboot yet. go to the superuser app (download from the play store) and update the binary again ( this is the 2rd time)

And it will be successful.(although u have deleted the superuser(chinese version. if u havent reboot, the root will remain.)

How can I "update the binary". I have already installed superuser from playstore so I cannot reinstall or "update". The second sentence ("altough...") is unreadable for me.

Thanks for help,
Mario

1st time downloading superuser, try to download SuperSU by Chainfire

2nd time downloading superuser, choose Superuser by ClockWordMod (or vice versa)

that's how I do it

Worked for me, however I am hearing that this root process might have malware attached to it, but not sure I cannot confirm. On the PC side of the root process installer i scanned my pc with spybot and Malwarebytes after un-installing the program and using ccleaner, and came up with no problems on the pc side of this process, posted scan log. However android side i scanned with avast and came up with no problems as well, BUT then again it could be not detectable so i did a factory reset after the scan and still able to keep root.

guys, FYI it was found a malaware inside the 1.6.0 version of this software. I don't know if such malaware is inside 1.5.0 (the file attached in the starting post) as well, but please be aware of this.
This is true, ever since I rooted with this method everytime I try to download something my phone also downloads an app on it's own I think is called mobogeanie.apk or something and when I open my trickster app it gives a toast notification about a modified root app might contain virus/malware so I guess I'll have to find a different way to root probably with a virtual linux machine.

For me, i have no problem with this tool no such thing i.e download apps automaticly. Ive been using this tool quite long time ago. Also, after i root my phone using this one, i change to superuser. So far no problem. But im not download the software from this thread tho. From the official site of vtool.

First time trying to ROOT my RAZR, I have an asia version, GSM, XT910. But having a heck of a time trying to find a root method i can understand.
I don't know what install or update binaries is, or what BMM is, and i don't do code or know how to run a root script bat file when the only thing close is a windows batch file, and that did not work......
So i guess the first question, is there a root method for my asia version RAZR, and is there a guide and a place to download the latest software i need. I have been searching for about a week now and find a bunch of broken links or info at the end of 20 pages that finally tells me, this wont work with my RAZR. VERY Humble....
