Any App To Root or Undelete Accident Pics on I717?

I am wondering if there's an app that is known to root ATT Samsung Note i717 on ver 4.0.4. I want to undelete photos but the only apps I find such as DiskDigger are for rooted phone's only. I have tried Z4 and OneClickRoot both didn't work.

Alternatively is there an app that anyone has used to undelete pics from an unrooted I717? That's all I want to do after all.

The long story is I picked up the phone off ebay with a non working USB port for a good deal. I replaced the USB port - unfortunately it only works with a wall charger type, it doesn't work with a USB type charger. So the phone cannot connect to my laptop via USB. That was ok for a wife phone until we need to undelete accident pics from off the phone that Geico is requiring to process our claim.

Somehow I can hold the USB cable tightly at an angle and it connects to the laptop as long as I am still. I figure if there's a windows app that can undelete then I can hold and try to work it out. But it's impossible to hold the cable in attempting to rooting the phone normally for the entire rooting process. That's why an app would be great.

Can you not use Kies? It can be a wireless thing. Won't have to root? I'm guessing. First I've heard of anybody wanting to undelete. I had to read it a few times. lol

Thanx for replying guys.

Well when the pics were taken the SD card was not in the phone so they had been stored on the phone memory. Neither did we have dropbox setup to upload real time. It does connect via Kies but that app doesn't have undeleting or restore deleted pics function.

So what I am trying to do is to recover the deleted photos from the phone's internal memory. I found this app DiskDigger but it's for rooted units. I would like to root this phone preferably with an app because the charging port on it doesn't work (ordered one but it ain't getting here fast enough, for now might as well try something). I tried this method here but encountered this error. At the moment due to a bad charging port there's no way to root it with my PC.

BTW Is undeleting in Android strange or not uncommon? I have found quite a bit of it on the web. Further, I also found an android recycle bin that seems to work->Dumpster. Wish I had it installed before all this. So still looking for a way to undelete/restore the pics, or a rooting app that will work with i717.

Which version are you running? I am assuming you are running 4.1.2?

Replace the charging port, root the phone, install the app, problem solved.
Port is now replaced. My buddy mentioned if I root the phone via my laptop that will delete/overwrite everything that I want to undelete. Is that correct?

P/S
I apologize if this is too obvious but for me all this is an uncharted territory.
