You really can't. The only other possible way is to buy a used or broken Redmi note 4. (Or just visit a service centre)

Marketing strategy. In this way they can force people to visit their service center, so they can earn more profit. I'll look up online if i find something on chinese retailers.

Well I already checked AE and found nothing, same with alibaba

All the publications have batteries without the MI logo so I guess generic

This sucks if you're nowhere near one of their centers

And ironically I could find spare OEM batteries for more obscure brands
