Proper review of all Tempered glass &Protection Film

Ok so I have read upto 14 pages of comments in this thread.
Now for my Poco f1 I have used :-
1.) Gadget Shield Ultra Clear Edge to Edge screen protector (A Film Not glass)
2.) Nilkin CP+ (Tempered glass with sticker that has the black colored edges)
3.) Some cheap jolies (Rs 200) Tempered glass.

I am tired of hearing of all the Tempered glass & screen protector.
First the Jollies one - Cheap and not at all good. So let this go for now.

Second - The wet application based Gadget Shield - Now I don't like this either. The comment the bubbles disappear in a few days is crap. I already mentioned that in review to them. The small bubbles do not go away in few days or even a month. And yes they would blame YOU for the application.
But here is the amazing fault in the film - When u apply wet film and use squeeze to take out the wet water and the air bubbles you actually cause the film to have marks. What I mean by marks is the top portion of the film gets stretched by the use of squeeze and thus appears like a weird marked translucent (which was supposed to be transparent). This's kinda like the film that gets applied on the Car windows to get it tinted but only that it is grey or blackish in colour you do not notice that marking.
Now on this note there is another Indian company (local - Bangalore) "Stillersafe" which also has had advertised sleazily, pretending to be customers who have bought this product and say its awesome. And it goes to say the Microlouver (something similar to example of the film I told u earlier - on the car windows) is stronger than glass, saying it is gel based. What a Load of crap. Can I get that gel info pls.
I would go to an extend that it is a partial scam. But I do appreciate the local business & enterpenurship so won't further go to reveal crap that it is advertising like every other company etc.
So both gadget shield and stillersafe is crap.

Now comes the most talked, in high regards, Nillkin CP+ which costed me about Rs 1000.
This is better than many but for this price crapiest of them all.
First what is a good tempered / protector for your POCO f1 - Understand this
Poco has notch. It display glass starts to curve inside on the edge. Thus an arc of curve of about 1.5 mm.
Also it bezels on all sides. Then it has a notification led at the bottom
On the notch it has -
\__0_0_===_o_0__/
From left Sensor "0 or o" are
Proximity,
IR,
=== -> SPeaker grill
o -> Ambient Light Sensor
lastly camera

Now no screen protector or tempered glass covers the curved portion.

Most protector are only scratch resistant (including the stiller safe one) and with wet applications have the issues which I mentioned earlier.
But Gadget shield is edge to edge till the curved portion start (basically cover till 0.3mm before the start of the curved portion).
Now all protectors and tempered glass are bad at the bottom edge because of the notification light and is about 0.5mm shy of the edge.

Most Tempered glass are either :-
1.) Fully clear with notch cutout - E.g Nillin H+ and H+ pro
2.) Fully clear with no notch but rather holes cut out for the sensors. Sometimes it covers some sensor like IR etc. and only have cutout for speaker and camera. I did find one (as shown in the youtube link - by Android Stud published 7th Oct - "Pocophone F1 Screen Protector/Tempered glass Install and review") but this did not cover edge to edge. Also I think number 3 kind looks the best because this clearly looks as something put on top of the dispay and finally when powered off ruins the looks of the display area of the phone (this is my preference). e.g youtube link - by Android Stud published 7th Oct - "Pocophone F1 Screen Protector/Tempered glass Install and review"

3.) Tempered glass with a film/sticker on top of it which has black colored edges replicating the bezels - Now I like the look of it. It looks like part of the display and something that has been grossly put on top of the display like number 1 and 2 kind.
E.g Jollies, Glazedinc, Nillkin CP+
Now Nillkin has all the cutouts and so did jollies for the sensors etc.

But here's the thing :
The cheap jollies, earlier version glasedinc etc what they did was have a tempered glass like

|--------\______/--------| Top edge of the actual tempered glass under the sticker

This is actual tempered glass on which they put a sticker/very thin film which has black edges and black notch with cutouts. Thus at the notch area there is a gap along the notch of depth 1mm between the actual display and the top portion of the so called tempered glass as the actual tempered glass has notch cutout. Thus dust etc. go in from here.

Now what nillkin CP+ and the newer version of glazedinc did was - have tempered glass even in the notch area but here's the problem there cutouts are not completely circular at the cutouts for Camrea, Proximity & IR.
There are like U, that is a circular cutout with no top edge.

|--------U_U_===_o_U--------| See the top of the cutouts within the tempered glass do not have glass edges - U not 0

Thus the uncovered top edges is where the dust comes in from. One of the post in this thread also shows it in picture.
Now these things are done to reduce the cost of the glass required and precision required. Also it leaves a gap shock to dissipate so that tempered glass does not break but it dissipates to the display of the phone ;) so they can't fully use this fact for false advertising.

Now second problem with all 3 type of tempered glass is that the sticker with the black edges are not accurate. The notch black region on the sticker like 1mm into the display. So does it come on the side area and bottom rounded corners of the Poco display.
I had mentioned this review to Nillkin but as usual just marketing gimmick no actual customer support.

Lastly the Tempered glass like Nillkin, jollies glazedinc etc will crack at the first drop but that is ok cause rather have that cracked than the display and these can take another drop after the crack once appears. Now lastly the requirement to have a thinner tempered glass or film is static electricity to reach the touch sensor under the display to reach easily with not hinderences. Hope this explains everything and they make a better
tempered glass with possibly an actual Gorila glass or dragon glass level tempered glass or maybe more expensive sapphire glass. I would buy 2-3 of them because that would properly protect the display. And have the cutouts proper on the tempered glass with top edges with a proper black lines on the sticker.

Thus this's review of almost all kinds of protector films and tempered glass out there for Poco f1. (And pardon my spelling mistakes)
Now the youtubers may copy this info :)

Thanks for the review mate.. But do you have any recomendation ?
What I was trying to explain in my review is that most of them, as of now are the same. Both glazedinc and nillkin tempered glass are both cut with the same blueprint in 3d printer machine or cutting machine. As for the glass both have the same generic glass (Not cornings gorilla glass or dragon glass or the sapphire glass) with literally no anti reflective coating or oleophobic coating. But since Glazedinc is considerably cheaper I would go for that. If Nillkin was costing me around 600 I would have preferred to go for that.
But yeah Nillkin packaging is better, applicability is bad for both. Best tempered glass applicability I have seen is in this youtube video for GLASS. You align tempered glass then put stickers on top of the glass with the phone body on bottom edge and then take out the cover from the back portion of the tempered glass to reveal the adhesive side. And voila aligned tempered glass is put in one step. Reduces the chances of bubble formation too.

Hope this helps

Ferilinso tempered glass.
Looks and feels like the phone is build with it, not like an addon.
Bought it on Amazon UK.
Look at the reviews on Amazon UK.
It has the same issue which I was talking about.
Black border coming on the pixel area a bit. And look carefully bottom portion is not edge to edge.
It is again from the same machine cut with same generic glass thus same durability as the nillkin and glazedinc.
And I am gone bet it has also has the same issue as not glass at the notch area or open U shaped cutout on the tempered glass at notch area, i.e. if it has tempered glass at the notch area.

Sharing the link of the item would be grt
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ferilinso-...542698362&sr=1-4&keywords=ferilinso+pocophone

I am speaking for myself, after literally dozens of glass protectors over my last phones this is definitely one of the few that looks and feels good.
Not like others that kept tiny bubbles trapped inside or incredibly worse, one that bent and never got plat entirely, always had a corner off the screen.
Still glass, I've broke it after replacement to check if it was not plastic, it was just wasted money.
I definitely gonna keep this make in my good books when I will buy another one.

Cheers.

My experience with Aliexpress glass.
I bought classic transparent 1$ glass, it came in a month. Application was standart, but it is too small. It was placed almost perfectly, but it "cut" few pixels from both sides. Nothing terrible, you could see that only if looking from curved edge.
Second glass I bought was "5D". It has black frame around , that is different at notch. It doesn't have glue at notch area, but have glass over camera. This mean that after few days is front camera full of dust. Also it is not shaped, like you would expect from "5D" name. It's just regular straight glass.
[OFF] That guy who designed display on Poco was completely mad. If he would put that display 1cm lower, curved edges would actually fit the phone shape and there would be no need for that stupid notch. Curved edges are for making screen/body ratio better, but here it makes exact opposite...

I have that one. It's beyond me who decided it's good idea to fit the protector with black stripes that mimic bezels and notch of the phone, because it makes it extremely hard to fit perfectly, especially aligning notification led cutout. First one I bought I tried to fit 5 or 6 times but couldn't get it right, in the end I accidentally dropped it on the floor and all kind of crap got stuck onto the sticking surface. So I ordered the second one, but it still took me couple of tries, I just couldn't align led cutout perfectly. I ended with acceptable fit, but managed to get few tiny dust particles under the glass that annoy me a bit. I must admit it was first time I fitted glass protector of any kind, so user error is to be expected. I generally don't use them, don't mind if screen gets tiny scratches over time, but main reason for getting one for poco was to make the phone usable with polarized sunglasses - and it works. Full screen gestures work okay too, and it doesn't interfere with my pretty bulky case, so that are positives. Anyway, I feel it would be much easer to fit if it was full transparent, I don't understand why no one makes one like that, all transparent that i found had that ugly notch cutout.

You can't have a fully transparent or it will be ugly.
Black outlines hide the outline that does not stick on the phone.

Transparent Glas Screen protector from edge to edge. I ordered it from Amazon germany and was surprised, that it came with a fluid. After reading the instructions, it was clear, that the fluid is applied on the edge of the screen protector, creeps under the screen protector and eliminates these ugly corner lift offs. Thumbs up from my side

The 5D one with diamond logo is good, I also got the camera lenses protector, search alixp, there's a shop with USA and Europe warehouse, others sending two for a little more, functions well, hard glass, no filter on top, just under the sticky side.

Yes, I'm happy, hard glass to protect, covers edges and holes well, picks up touches well, installing is easy, bubbles are forced out to edge on install easily, etc. No complaints. I bought two but installation is easy, only need one, look at photos and reviews on the shop that sold hundreds in alixp.

This 5-D (diamond logo) seems to be standard for Pocophone, I don't think there's better, expensive ones are selling the same. If you have keys, coins etc next to phone in picket or are rough, the tiny camera protector plastic is also good for $1 shipped, or just cut another protector you have to shape.

I recently switched to the new curved tempered glass from Glazedinc. This is the new glass they launched and it has curved edges(Like the phone) so it's a proper 2.5D Curved glass. Also it doesn't cut into the notch or the display like other glasses. Check it out. You can also get 10% Discount with GIZMO code.

whats the difference between the normal one and premium one as the photos are same for both is it compatible with spigen case ?

Don't buy GLAZEDINC totally fraud, I got one for 350.

Was broken on delivery; I sent pictures and say no return/ replacement policy. My money wasted. Also, it seems very poor quality.

They are avoiding me, on email, facebook, twitter.

Worst experience.
