I am a long time Note user that is fed up with Samsung.... Battery life, internal storage, stereo sound (speakers), quality dac's, etc and I have been reading allot about the hydrogen one. I don't see any forum on it. I don't even know if Red is really going to produce the thing to begin with. I am just curious to see what people know about the hydrogen one or what has been confirmed about it before I drop money on an over priced Note 8.

It's actually a great phone with top-notch specs (on paper, at least). But what stands out is the display, a holographic display. You can't view it on a normal screen, otherwise it'd be up on YouTube, but the very few people who have actually seen the phone can't stop talking about it, especially that screen. :)

One of you (@Snowleopard1900 & @Eclipse457) could always open a discussion thread regarding this device here.

Device Reviews and Information - XDA Forum

All you need to do is take a look at some of the other ones there to get a good idea as to what is provided on the title and first post to open the discussion with.

Other members who may be interested in this device will, more than likely, go there to discuss it.

Just a suggestion.

Good Luck :)

For some reason I don't get notifications, hence the late response. Also, I can't hit the thanks button (gives an error on XDA Labs)

Might start a discussion thread about RED once we're closer to the dates and announcements, so we could have a little more insight on the phone :)

Try it for yourself. I just got it. This phone rocks!!
I can second this part.

Personally, I bought this device as a *phone* first and foremost.

I was curious about the so-called holographic display, but that wasn't a factor for my purchase decision.
I didn't have high expectations for the camera and I likely won't buy any modules, either.
What sold me was the robust industrial design. I wasn't interested in yet another iphonesque piece of kit.
Samsung, Apple, Oppo, Xiaomi... I can barely tell them apart, and quite frankly I'm tired of that trend.

I love the look and feel; and, performance is great.
The 3D/4V screen is actually quite fun and there's a lot of great shared content on Holopix,
shot by other Hydrogen One owners who know how to handle a camera. (^;

Seriously, you gotta see and try One for yourself.
Most people that tried mine thought it was "so cool" or "awesome",
but you won't know what *you* think until you try it.
If you're in the US, you should be able to handle a demo unit in a carrier store
or by catching the Hydrogen tour (see War Wagons near the bottom).

I haven't put my hands on one yet, but it is true, the reviews coming out from people that have one in their hand is it is basically a hyped up HTC what ever model it was with the 3D screen tech from like 4-6 years ago. As an Android device, it seems to have really low specs for its price point. Too bad.

Honestly, I don't quite understand where you're coming from...
What's the point/purpose of regurgitating others' impressions?
I'm sure those who care enough and can read, have done so
already. Of course, I do understand that not having used one,
it's difficult to contribute anything meaningfully new, but isn't
it better than to wait until you can?

The reviews you're referring to come from "online influencers"
and tech site reviewers most of whom spent only a few days
tops with the phone, and gave their specs-focused impressions.

I've had this device for almost two months now, and I love it.
And, so did everyone else I showed it to. Do yourself a favor
and *try* one and form your *own* opinion. I assume you're
fully capable of doing so.
