I didn't see that where is it at?I was in your boat yesterday and got sick of waiting...p3droid put up a real nice and detailed walkthrough to manually update, and you won't loose any data. Took me about 15 min to do

Amen, brother. Although I would never want to be stuck plugging my device into a computer just to get the update (I'm looking at you, Apple), I don't see why they can't make the updates more accessible. On the XOOM, we can't even check for the update unless we want to change the date on our device and restart it (which isn't exactly fast) and that's just lame.I'm still waiting for the update, located in South West Michigan on a stock 3G Xoom which I picked up on Launch day. I have also received my invite for Music Beta and that is actually working on my device already...... (Updates through the Market place)
The idea of OTA updates is fantastic. In practice google are showing us that it is not fantastic. In fact it is frustrating for the users...... This update was announced as rolling out 2 days ago and some of us are still waiting.
They should either roll out OTA updates quicker, or offer the option of a tethered update (via PC etc) as soon as the OTA updates start rolling out.
I'm not sure Google appreciate just how much they are annoying owners with the current OTA update method. I am slightly biased as I get impatient, but come on...... Many of us are slightly frustrated with our devices as it is and when an update comes out that is supposed to fix these problems and add functionality we are going to want them at the same time as others...... Anyway, I need to end my RANT..... RANT ENDED![]()
It's not because of bandwidth - they want to avoid bricking all XOOM users if the update is bad...that's why it's done in phases so if there are issues they impact the least amount of people.Amen, brother. Do we know who is actually delivering this update? Is it Moto, Verizon, or Google? If it's Google, then I don't get the hold-up. They have more bandwidth than anyone.
I agree, I do find it maddening to know that there is an update out and you have no way of getting it by traditional means. I'm totally on board with both the rolling OTA update as well as the day 1 tethered update for the power users.I'm still waiting for the update, located in South West Michigan on a stock 3G Xoom which I picked up on Launch day. I have also received my invite for Music Beta and that is actually working on my device already...... (Updates through the Market place)

If you don't mean to hijack the thread, then don't ask unrelated questions.... just saying that you don't mean to hijack doesn't cure it...Stock 3G Xoom, launch day, received unsolicited Music beta invite (which I signed up for, and downloaded Music app update - works great).
Still waiting...
Does anyone know if there's a hacked version of flash that works with 3.1 for Hulu? (Sorry OP, don't mean to hijack the thread)
I think I've read that people who are rooted have gotten it, but they lose root once installed.Still waiting... Rooted 3G Xoom, In New Jersey
does it matter if im rooted, will i receive the OTA regardless?
