Ditto, noticed some warmness after playing games. Polaris can warm it up too, but I haven't been able to get it warm with Power Saving on.
Mine was getting warm just browsing the internet. It isnt that bad at first but after 10 mins it continues to get warm. I could definitely hear a faint sound even when I am not doing anything, just the screen on. I will report back when I get my new one.

Well I went out and got me a galaxy note 8.0 for my birthday. Or technically my gf bought for Me. :p

Anyways I have not noticed my note getting hot at all. It was only faintly warm after I played a game on it for about an hour.

I'd just like to add one minor annoyance that nobody seems to have noticed. The way they have oriented the micro SD card makes it a little hard to remove the SD card.

I have owned the xoom, Asus transformer, Nexus 7, and now the Note 8! this is by far the best in my opinion! I've only owned it for 2 days but have found more use for it than all the others! I find it actually makes things easier! The only down side is a small creak I've found in the back part of the casing next to the Micro SD card slot! By the Way, I wrote all this with the s pen and my own hand writing!
I picked one up over the weekend and noticed a creak in exactly the same area, It makes the sound only when I put extra pressure in that area. Have you exchanged yours? I don't want to go through the hassle if it's normal. I've had to for 24 hours and will continue to check it out but I'm loving everything else, who would have known I'd like an 8 inch tablet this much after having the Nexus 10 a few times.

Is it me or does the note 8.0 feel warm on the back (bottom left)? I downloaded system tuner and it is reaching 50-55° C ON CPU by simply browsing the internet or just having the screen on. Also, if I put my ear close to where it feels warm I hear this hissing sound (very faint but noticeable). I dont get this same effect on my note 2. Otherwise, I love this tablet!
I dont get any sound from mine but it does get noticably hot in the bottom left side when im gaming (did a long session on Shadowgun deadzone this weekend). No performance issues from an extended period of play and the CPU was showing around 40 degrees (in 20 degree ambiant room temp). Not sure how warm the GPU was getting. I'm wondering if it was that that was getting really warm as its older tech being pushed to its limits...

Had to run the game on the lowest graphics settings though (recommended). Tried medium quality and noticed a bit of stuttering which is not acceptable when playing multiplayer online, so reduced it back to low. This could have been lag issues, but I didnt want to run the risk as i dont like to lose.

On the whole I'd say the graphics in most of the games I've run are good and the performace is smooth though. Just a very warm, almost uncomfortably so section of the screen when under strenuous use.

I exchanged mine twice before I got one without the creak. Now it's solid no issues. Still use it a lot and love it!

Ok, I went through two more and both did not creak but each did have a major light bleed issues. I'm now on my forth and during the light bleed test I noticed a dust particle under the screen. The Note is the best all around tablet but what's up with Samsung's QC? I hope I will not have to give up on it like the Nexus 10.

After nearly a week of use I have no real quibbles. The biggest one is I hate the stock lockscreen but that... that is changed easily enough. So far the device is very responsive and snappy, has less lag with pen input than my note 10.1, and the screen while not the highest resolution by any means looks very, very nice!
I have a 10.1and am considering a 8.0, how do you use them when you have both? I also have the original Note Smartphone so I can't really figure out where it fits in and what functions I would gain.

Ever since i have Note 8, my Note 1 was relegated to phone status - I even partly lost my OCFD drive (Obsessive-Compulsive Flashing Disorder), switching from nightlies to weekly update cycle. Probably all depends on usage pattern, for my needs one operative device is enough, so 2 tablets and phablet could be a slight overkill. Why Note 8 instead of 10? I needed portability more than bigger screen, plus newer hardware plus micro-USB socket for charging (instead of the strange Samsung adapter). The only issue I have with Note 8 now, is the damn thing won't leave me for a second...

Lol, I know what you mean about OCFD it has been part of my weekend fun for months. I also purchased the Nook HD+ this week from to help with that. It does not have many roms out but hopefully that will change with the new price point.

While I dont have 2 notes, I do have a 10 inch tablet and the Note 8.0. I also got the note for portability as I've been wanting a strong performing 8-9inch tablet for about 2 years now. As soon as I heard the note was being released I was sold. I was originally looking at a 11inch laptop to draw with. Something like sony's vaio option, but that went out of the window when the note was announced. It's now with me 24/7.

I would most likely use a larger tablet to draw with at home if I had one with that capability, but anything 10 inches or above is just not practical to carry around in my opinion. As such I've almost not touched my old tablet since getting this new one. Its relegated to viewing comics, downloading torrents and connecting to my tv via HDMI.

SNOTE refresh issue on note 8

just recently added the note 8 to my note 2 and note 10 set (i know ridiculous isn't it getting all of them)

the idea is that i want to see if the 8 would replace my 10

so far, no issues except a nussance using the snote app

everytime i open the app, it says refreshing and takes about a minute each time.

this is frustrating since i'm used to quick access on my note 2 and 10

all my notes are synced and the note 8 is the only one that does this

has anyone been facing the same issue ?

i'm trying to fix it and been advised to take it to the shop for flashing

other than that would be more than happy to share the pros and cons based on my impression :) what do you guys think?

After upgrading to Jelly Bean on my original Note I face a similar problem. Double tap to call up S-Note is very erratic.
