Any video chat comparible to facetime?

with facetime, you dont have to have the app open to use it.
I am looking for something like that.
I keep reading that skype on this tablet is poor.
I tried google talk last night, but video quality was kind of poop.

Two things I am looking for (well one, the second would be nice)
1. I can "call" someone for a video chat without them having to have the app open and waiting.
2. If this app has something available on iOS so my wife can chat with me (she has iPad 2) that would be cool.

Look into an app called Tango. I don't do video-chats, but I do believe that it is available for both Android and iOS. Might be worth trying...

google+ video chat is much crisper than gtalk.

I use google talk and skype. Both are sensitive to your network connection. There are days both are crisp and clear and days they are grainy as it automatically lowers quality to sustain the call. Not placing all fault on the connection speed as a good compression is key, but just pointing out what I have noticed. Google+ video works well too. The good part about google talk is that once you set it up it's always running in the background like facetime and is ready to go unless you open the app and logout of it. I use it for my primary alternative to texting because I transition from gmail in a browser to phone to tablet and it keeps my discussions updated across all devices for a seamless transition.

Try ooVoo. I haven't tried it on the Infinity yet (don't have it yet), but it works great on some other devices I have tried and allows multiparty chat and has android, ios, and windows apps.
